It does but I think the problem with 8-D is how they actually go about the processing versus think like Dolby S / ATMOS. The difference is that with the latter its a processing point in space where the music source comes from, with 8-D its layers creating the illusion of position so when you do that you get so much noise in the overlay that it sounds a bit washed. It's really all subjective at the end of the day (as I stated when I first heard it). I personally think stuff like Rock music will translate terribly to it considering how its formed but EDM and forms of it will be very good because you get that chorus feel which adds to the space factor of the music.
