My votes will be based on likability as well as the trophies. I like to consider how difficult it was for those teams and the manager to get those trophies too.

The late, Scottish great Jock Stein is on my list, he won 32 trophies and 30 of them were with Glasgow Celtic and he was the first and only Scottish manager to win the European Cup with players all with Scottish roots.

I have always said that when he took over at Leeds if he had stayed and not took the Scottish managers job he would have done with Leeds what SAF did with Man United coming from South of the border, SAF has said many a time he learnt a lot about management by looking at the way big Jock managed Celtic.

I will only go with managers during my life time.

Did the same, or similar anyway since I started watching football.

Apologies for the wait!

  • NINE people voted
  • SIXTY-SIX bands and artists were mentioned
  • The top two places were separted by just NINE points

So here is the TF365 Top 10... Bands/Artists

Position Band Number of Votes Points
#1 Queen 4 36
#2 Beatles 4 27
#3 Pink Floyd 4 25
#4 Led Zepplin 3 21
#5 Iron Maiden 3 19
#6 Metallica 3 18
#7 Foo Fighters 3 15
#8 The Rolling Stones 2 13
#9 Red Hot Chili Peppers 2 13
#10 Linkin Park 2 12

Queen take the #1 spot which wasn't too much of a shock. Closely followed by The Beatles and Pink Floyd

Some honourable mentions next...

Position Band Number of Votes Points
19 Taylor Swift 1 9
24 Blink 182 2 8
36 Guns 'n' Roses 1 6
40 Dido 1 5
66 Coldplay 1 1

Taylor Swift made it inside the top 20! Surprisingly to me at least, Blink 182 didn't make it any higher than 24th. I thought Guns n Roses would have placed higher but only received one vote (not from me!). Dido got a surprise vote and Coldplay were bottom of the pile.

Nothing wrong with Dido. She has the voice of an angel.

Thank God Pink Floyd made it to top three.

@topic

PMing the manager list. Hope Bob Paisley gets a high rating. Up there amongst the greats.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with Johnny Cash not making the top 10.

Will pass on the top 10 managers this time. Don't think I even have a top 10 to begin with :4_joy:

Not a bad top 10... I’d probably only argue with the Foo Fighters & Linkin Park tbh.

How did Exodus fair? xD

Any more for managers before I do the results? :)

This should be interesting. Will maybe learn about some managers from the early 1900’s with John’s knowledge.

TF365 Top 10... Football Managers

THE RESULTS

  • 8 people voted
  • 29 managers were voted for in total
  • Every person who voted nominated the manager in #1 at some point in their top 10...
Position Manager Nationality Number of Votes Points
#1 Alex Ferguson Scottish 8 78
#2 Pep Guardiola Spanish 7 37
#3 Jose Mourinho Portugese 6 33
#4 Arsene Wenger French 5 29
#5 Marcello Lippi Italian 4 25
#6 Arrigo Sacchi Italian 3 20
#7 Jurgen Klopp German 4 19
#8 Carlo Ancelotti Italian 4 19
#9 Ottmar Hitzfeld German 3 19
#10 Bob Paisley English 3 17

Not really a surprise that Sir Alex Ferguson was the winner by an astonishing 41 points. Just the one person refused to include Pep Guardiola in their list which means he only gets second (not that it would have made any difference).

11 Vicente Del Bosque Spanish 4 16

Vicente Del Bosque just missed out on the top 10.

13 Rafael Benitez Spanish 4 15
14 Brian Clough English 4 14

Rafa Benitez and Brian Clough were the other two managers to get 4 votes but miss out on a top 10 place.

Should have only been Fergie really so that's expected.

Can't really complain about the rest of the list.

I prefer Wenger to Mourinho but obviously the latter has the CL titles to bump up his ranking.

I picked 1&2 in that order but I would have had Jock Stein in amongst all that lot, I never picked Wenger, Klopp, Sacchi, Ancelotti or Hitzfeld so one of them should have made way for big Jock, glad Bob Paisley got amongst the top ten.

SAF as No 1 was a no boner really and not just because I am a United man it's what SAF did in Scotland with Aberdeen and then came South of the border and carried on with United, with him in charge of Aberdeen he broke the stranglehold that Glasgow Celtic & Rangers had over Scottish football.
