Had a bit of a stroll down the Old Railway Path behind us, no rails anymore and just a footpath with natural nature surroundings, animals like foxes darting around and all types of birds (yes, female ones too walking their dogs xD)

No cars allowed down there but bikes are ok and the history of the Old Railway tracks go back to 1847 when they were there.

Edinburgh, Leith and Newhaven Railway

Days gone by.

Taxi drivers are mental though.

Our son is a Taxi driver and he supports Liverpool so I agree with you on that one, he is mental. xD

Some more pics our daughter took yesterday at Arthurs Seat, Edinburgh, 2 lovely photos of a bee on the ground exausted with all the flying around, the daughter did the old trick and put some juice water from the bottle in a cap and poured it next to the bee, it had a drink then flew off into the wild blue yonder.

Road runner stopped by Trump’s border wall wins Bird Photographer of the Year

Take flight and explore stunning photographs of some of the most endangered and enigmatic species of bird in the world.

As photography subjects go, birds are notoriously (and literally) flighty. So it’s not hard to admire the work on show at the Bird Photographer of the Year contest. The winners of the 2021 prize have been announced, spanning a range of technical categories, narrowed down from a flock of 22,000 entries.

The prize-winning work showcases some of the world’s most colourful species and also highlights their delicate, essential place in our world.

I have posted a few of my astrophotography images on social media recently, and have just received a partnership offer from a small media company that specialises in stock images :o Apparently, they want to me to regularly contribute astro-related images to them, with me earning a 60% commission. I am obviousy going to discuss terms and whatnot before I commit to it, but what are your thoughts? Decent opportunity to earn some passive pocket money?

Congratulations young lady and well done :congrats:

Go for it and I wish when I was a bit younger and an opportunity like that came up I would have jumped at the chance but I am afraid lady luck never came my way in years gone by.

Cheers John!

I'm naturally mistrusting and always wary about things like that, but a quick research suggests they are legit, and in the end, I don't have anything to lose considering I take those images as a hobby anyway... Might as well give it a go :)

I'd do it just because, as you said, its a hobby and if you can get paid for a hobby then nothing like it. Are they offering you percentages of sales on the stock images?

Yes, 40% for non-exclusive and 60% for exclusive stock images, plus an active promotion of my content to the target customers for 6 years.

It's a new and project by a group of Asian photographers and artists, so I expect a very slow start, but what I like is that they are focused on selling specific content instead of generic stock images, as I think it has by far more potential than competing with big and already established microstock platforms.

Have you got anything to lose in the long term? If it’s very specific images, sounds like you’ve got a decent opportunity to break into that niche market and set the standard. Go for it.

Thats awesome! Congrats! I think as you say as long as they are legit you have nothing to lose. Can always try it and see how it goes. Also share some of these images please :D
