Maybe he realised that he is better off continuing to be an established star at Napoli, rather than having to break into a star studded attack, as Chelsea's will be next season. Moreover, remaining at Napoli and in Serie A, is a much easier end to his career, compared to having to establish himself in a stronger and a more physical league, that he has never played in before.
