Red Bull say they want Albon to be a success but what the fuck was that strategy of putting him on the medium tyres? It's not the first time they've given him a weird alternative strategy in a sort of "hit and hope" manner that's just put him on the back foot. The lad needs a straightforward race. Put him on the hard tyres and if he can't beat Ricciardo then so be it.

Kvyat should be replaced by Tsunoda for next year. Either that or Albon and Gasly in the junior team with Max getting an experienced teammate. Gasly's giving him a spanking at the moment. His comeback including a podium is a nice little outcome but he doesn't really bring much to the table. Best thing for Gasly might be to move out of the Red Bull stable now. If he goes back to the senior team and gets pounded again then his F1 career is pretty much over and he's already proven himself in the Alpha Tauri. He could do with a move to a Renault or McLaren type team.

I believe that's just the matter of Tsunoda qualifying for the super license, that has been hinted by both Helmut Marko and Franz Tost recently.

How so? The only drivers who got properly fucked over by their team strategy were Albon and Perez...

They pitted him too early and had him go 1 stop for the whole race.

Not to mention he was on mediums. He's being repeatedly fucked over to favour gasly.

Think he had exactly the same strategy as about half of the field, including the top 3. Started on mediums and pitted for hards under the safety car. Not sure that counts as him being fucked over by his team to favour Gasly... Sure, Gasly's alternative strategy worked out better in the end, but Gasly also managed to move up a few positions right after the start despite being on the hard compound and managed his tyres very well overall, so credit to him for making it work.

Really? Did you even watch the race?

Everyone ahead of him started on the soft tyres (apart from HAMBOTVER). And for soft tyres 7 laps is a good point to stop. For  mediums it isnt. To expect a Tauri to go to the end on hard tyres and be competitive is just stupid.

I am worried for Albon, as I just don't think he has 'it', and I'm not sure RB has a driver at the moment that has proven otherwise. Maybe Tsunoda...

I'm not sure the future of Haas and Alfa, but if they don't replace all of their drivers next year then they are just clueless. Kimi clearly the best out of the bunch, but they all need something new and fresh. I like Gunter and think he comes off as a good and nice guy, but why he keeps holding on the Mag and Gros is beyond me...

No need to be patronising xD

Yes, 6 cars started on softs ahead of him. So what? That wasn't a problem for Gasly who started on hards behind Kvyat and still managed to overtake him and four other cars in the first few laps despite them all being on softer compounds though, was it?

Anyway, almost everyone who had free choice of tyres for started on mediums as that was the generally prefered strategy. 8 cars out of 10 - Kvyat, Vettel, Russell, Kimi, Grosjean, Giovinazzi, Latifi, Magnussen, except Leclerc who took a gamble on softs and Gasly who started on hards; all of them then also pitted on lap 11 (not on lap 7, as you claim) under safety car and changed to hards until the end of the race (Magnussen and Latifi had to do a two stopper as their tyres were toast). It was a very long stint for everyone, not only Kvyat. Do you reckon they were all screwed by bad team strategy then, because in the end, everyone except Renault was struggling and nursing their 33-lap-old hard tyres?... Could Alpha Tauri have kept Kvyat out while everyone else was pitting under safety car, and then bring him in later? Sure, but it's always a gamble since everyone else would have been on fresh tyres for the next 10 rounds and teams always want to take the opportunity of a "free" pit stop under safety car, it's usually silly not to. Could they have started him on a different tyre? Sure, but Alpha Tauri decided to split their strategy and coupled with the events on the track, it didn't work out in his favour, bad luck. Hindsight is 20/20, you can argue that starting on a harder compound, staying out or doing a two stopper could have worked better, but it's all speculation and hardly a case of someone being "fucked over by bad team strategy".

So what? Thats the entire point.

They needed to pit. NEEDED. Guys on medium and hard didn't. Its a terrible strategy.

Its exactly what they did with Gasly.

Anyways, fuck it. The world hates him, I cant fight everyone.

I don't think it's that straightforward. Before the race, softs were predicted to last for around 16-18 laps. If there hasn't been the incident and safety car, the guys on softs wouldn't have needed to pit at that point and would have easily done at least 5-6 laps more instead; in fact Perez did 19 on his without significant problems (even if his strategy to stay out didn't work out in the end). Of course they took advantage of free pit stop though, that's a no brainer. Mediums were predicted to last for around 20-25 laps, but they weren't perfoming great today in general, Verstappen was complaining about having no grip on his medium tyres on lap 9 already. Everyone on mediums (including Kvyat) pitted during the safety car phase, so either the medium tyre wear was by far worse than they expected before the race, or they all made a terribly bad strategy call by not staying out.

Gasly was the only one who started on hards, and that worked in his favour. That turned out to be a brilliant strategy, but nobody could have known it before the race, it was a gamble that paid off.

You think the world hates the Russian Rocket?

I'm not sure why the hate for Gasly? It's not like he's a Grade A douche bag like some of the other drivers, but instead a really nice guy, who was given a change last year with the 'big boys', didn't performed, got demoted, and ended up showing his talent again.
