Today is a day to look for improvements, enjoy our first look at the new players and not have a meltdown if we get beaten.

The exact team I'd have gone with. Just missing Holgate at centre back but probably our strongest team for the season ahead. Have to keep grounded as the three new boys haven't been involved in even a friendly game yet but I'm a fan of getting them out there from the start instead of easing them in with 30 minutes, 60 minutes etc.

Is Carlo bringing out his xmas tree formation?

Imo that was the best of Carlo - his AC Milan Christmas tree with Kaka, Pirlo, Gattuso, and Seedorf.

I'm hoping that's a bit of a 433 with Richarlison and James cutting inside.

Can I just say it’s very annoying that your lot has managed to pick up a manager I really like and task him with a really interesting rebuild.

I am supposed to hate Everton but I can’t hate Ancelotti. Even though he’s been a pretty iconic high profile opponent of Liverpool a number of times in his career and I’m pretty sure he hates us.

Early impression: Everton's midfield looks good.

Doucouré and Allan are working well together, I like the inclusion of Gomes and James is not hiding from the game, as it happens at times.

That's classic Everton. Had more time than he realised. Pass the ball man.

I do like Doucoure. I think he'd have been a great signing for us.

Spurs have been on top and created better chances. Richarlison should have scored though, or set up Calvert-Lewin. I'd be tempted to swap DCL for Kean sooner rather than later.

I'm really not a fan of this split collar thing on the back of the Spurs shirt. I think Liverpool or one of the other teams playing yesterday had it as well.

@Storts

I used to be on board the Harry Winks train but I have to agree with a comment I saw just now in that he just plays 5 yard passes and that’s it. I struggle to see what he does to influence the game.

This is a Spurs team that looks a shadow of the football they were playing under, Poch.

Richarlison should be doing better with his chances. I think Everton could have a better cushion if he slots one of them away.

But in All or Nothing they seem to be progressing.

They should have just accepted a shit season with Poch and he’d be ready this season to turn things around

Eric Dier is dismal.

Wouldn't stand out at Fulham.
