Saw the advert and from that it looks fucked up, but from people who have watched apparently the message is that kids are being sexualised rather than the film trying to sexualise them

But I’ve not seen it

Doesn't make sense though. In making the film, they've done exactly what they've said not to do...

'Kids shouldn't be sexualised but we'll make a film that sexualises them so that other people don't sexualise them'.

Counter-intuitive & counter-productive.

Thought it might have been a doc

I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with wanting to look at the theme of how kids deal with hyper-sexualised mass culture, but if I wanted it done with moderation and taste I wouldn't look at French cinema.

They seem to want to take things a slight bit too far. The difference is that people will turn off a film with 30 minute lesbian sex scenes, or a CGI foetus being tore out of a womb, and forget about it.

But actual kids being involved hits peoples' sensibilities completely differently.

What's the actual definition of child pornography and is it actually present in the film?

I havent watched it myself but from what is being discussed in that tweet nudge just posted it doesn't seem like actual child pornography is involved but the argument is trying to shift towards sexual depiction of children and using that in a movie. I think it will get thrown out of courts personally.

Oh without a doubt. Also a bit rich of those arguing about censorship when this film, from as far as I know, isn't breaking any laws.

We're heading in a worrying direction when shit like this can actually get on Netflix and still be there weeks later. I expect the ever growing cult of weirdos online will begin defending paedophilia next. It's already started actually.

Based on one film? 😅
