Manchester City have reportedly identified Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as a potential transfer target.

While City have been heavily linked with an approach for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, it remains unclear whether the Premier League giants are prepared to pay in excess of £60m for the Senegal international.

That has left Pep Guardiola to consider cheaper alternatives, which has previously led to Diego Carlos, also of Sevilla, being on his radar. (SportsMole) Arrow.png.fea9a44c4964791c3ba10bdc64b0f07d.png

In a recent report, The Daily Mail has stated that Manchester City have stepped up their pursuit of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde despite having their opening offer rejected by the Andalusian club during this summer transfer window. It is understood that the Mancunian giants have been warned that they will have to match the player’s £82m release clause, but Kounde’s desire to move to the Etihad Stadium could force Sevilla to sell him ‘for a compromise fee’ (via The Daily Mail). (The 4th Official)Arrow.png.36306e71db5b6720010d100a717b3dac.png

However, the 21-year-old centre-back has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Pep Guardiola's side. (Foot Mercato - in French)Arrow.png.36306e71db5b6720010d100a717b3dac.png
