Well yeah but nobody ever has a world class back up keeper. As far as back up keepers go id say hes pretty solid.

Just think this is a bit of a lazy attitude, to be honest. Other teams have had good backup keepers - Tottenham had Vorm, Chelsea have had Begovic and Courtois, United have Romero and Henderson, Arsenal just sold Martinez - so it's not impossible. If Alisson's going to keep being injury prone, it would probably be a good investment to find a more reliable backup

Injury prone?

In my opinion Adrian is a decent back up.

Good luck targeting the right side containing the fullback with the most assists in world football and Mo Salah.

Erm, what's most assists and Mo Salah got to do with how poor TAAs been defensively? I would genuinely be surprised if sitting back and exploiting that Liverpool right side isn't his game plan.

Don't think he's been poor defensively for a while now.

Poor defensively? This is not 2018 mate. We cause more damage to teams down our right side than anywhere else. If he wants to target that then so be it.

What fundamentally doesn't make sense though is you using TAA/Salah's attacking output as a reason your right hand side wouldn't struggle defensively.

Pulisic and Phillips recently showed how easy it is to get at TAA.

Imagine Aubameyang.

Trent is still ways away from matching his defensive play with his forward one. He’s still good at the back though, his and Gomez’s pace in underrated and more often than not they both recover if they are caught out of position. It just looks a lot worse than it is because you have Van Dijk on the other side, who very very rarely has to recover from being out of position.

In that match last season after the league was won and we were looking like a team that no longer gave a fuck because we’d won the title and our season over?

Because for much of last season Trent was pretty good defensively. Again, I’m sure Arsenal will attack the right side more - but that may have more to do with Virgil and us having a makeshift CB playing on the right side.

It’s a shame Thiago’s likely to be out and I hope Alisson is able to start because our last few times playing Arteta’s Arsenal we don’t play poorly. But silly mistakes cost us.

Its pretty simple really. If a team targets our right side, the ball will be on the right side more often than not. If the ball is on our right side more often than not then we are going to get the ball a lot on our right side. If we get the ball a lot on our right side then more often than not a team will be punished.

Id attack our left personally.
