There's a video going round on Facebook from a couple of years ago where a Police Officer warns the then Home Secretary Theresa May that the budget cuts towards the police are putting national security at risk. We all knew he was right at the time but the sadest part is he talks about us being reactive rather than proactive and that's exactly what has happened here. It's taken an absolutely tragic incident before the government have began to acknowledge that the threshold on deporting non british citizens conspiring to commit terrorism needs to be dropped significantly.

But Salman Abedi was a British citizen, as was the Westminster Terrorist, 'Khalid Masood'. How do you deport British nationals, which many of these attackers and wannabe attackers are?

That's a different debate in its entirety. Given the prison system is overcrowded, underfunded, and would create a preaching platform to the vulnerable should there be a different form of historical punishment since been eradicated reintroduced for our more prolific and extreme criminals that means we never have to see them again.

Find evidence (as little as it may be) and use it against them.

It's time to stop all of the pussyfooting around and its time to take action. We are at war with these people and the longer we sit around lighting up the Eiffel Tower the longer the problem persists.

Not having a go at you of course but it's time that we really started to take action against these savages regardless of who it may upset. Further limit the amount of refugees running around the place, impost tighter checks on the followers of Islam and start deporting people in bulk.

Surely you can see the irony behind fighting fire with fire, or the deaths of innocent people with the deaths of more innocent people, in this case?

And surely you can see that attacking that part of the world is just a continuation of the vicious cycle we've been in for years?

We haven't had the death penalty for years,  I'm pretty sure we've never used it for conspiracy to commit a crime either.

Desperate times call for desperate measures  ...Tony Bellew hit the nail on the head. they should be hung for treason, or round them all up and send them to Guantanamo Bay

That political heavyweight Bellew?! What will that achieve? Do you think that peace on the streets of the UK will be achieved that way?

You can argue about it all day. There is no solution. Attacking their country is the wrong thing to do and will just create more extremists. Doing nothing is obviously not the solution because that means they're attacking us with impunity.

The sensible thing to do is to hunt down their leader and bump him off but we've seen since Bin Laden that as soon as you kill one of them, three take his place. In fact there was a thread the other week on here saying one of the leaders of ISIS had been killed. I replied saying is this actually a good thing? Does it matter? Well it didn't stop this attack.

The sad truth is that extremism will always exist in one form or another, at the moment it's at its peak (you'd hope), but there's no logical and moral way of preventing it altogether, only minimising it.

The only way it changes in my opinion is a real game changer. I'm talking an absolute madman performing a mass homicide or dropping a nuclear bomb on the area to wipe them out but even that it likely to cause even more of a backlash and create even more martyrs. After that maybe the world will change due to global warming or an alien invasion, don't hold your breath.
