So it looks like he's come from a rabidly anti-gadaffi family who sought refuge here and then when Gadaffi was toppled returned to live in what is an Islamist paradise. Whatever you think of Gadaffi, meddling in the affairs of other countries without an inkling of who you're helping has come back to haunt Britain countless times.

Iraq and Libyan intervention has directly helped terrorists who want to hurt British people, Cameron and Blair are directly culpable here. To think people will vote for May who wants to bomb Syria too.

That's like the KKK carrying out an attack at a local football match and then me going to burn the nearest church I see, killing innocent Christians. just because.

Bombing mosques is the dumbest thing to do. It provides no solution at all and just harms more innocent life most likely.

This kind of shit plays exactly into ISIS's hands. They want everyone to buy into an Islam v. the West mentality - their propaganda called the fucking little girls who were killed at this concert "crusaders of Rome." They want as few moderate Muslims (or moderate anything tbh) as possible, and there are plenty of moderate Muslims around the world. Many of them left the Middle East to escape shite theocratic rule, or shitty dictators like Saddam and Assad. They hate those people and would either like to radicalise them and make them hate the West as much as they do, by having them be the subject to these stupid mosque attacks in retaliation to this. Or they die in attacks done in retaliation for the attacks.

I often don't agree with Panflute in the politics forum, and I still particularly disagree with this little Putin-love-in (let's not forget, with Putin's help eastern Aleppo is rubble - we've given examples of what the UK/US has done to get hate from ISIS... Russia's done it's part as well). Putin is no saint, he would like to rebuild the USSR (see Georgia & Ukraine) and be as influential in the Middle East as the US. And then he would have the power to do the same shit. And domestically he's a fucking authoritarian, kleptocrat cunt... but regardless, we need to remember the ideology of ISIS. It is the world's most dangerous doomsday cult.

We cannot forget they have a doomsday cult where they believe that in order for them to ultimately win the war, they will suffer a massive defeat that is almost crushing to them. They then believe that the messiah will come down and crush the West and the global caliphate will reign. They want to provoke a great war between the world & their brand of Islam. And they want to radicalise as many Muslims as possible to be canon fodder for their holy war.

There's no easy fix to this situation... the Middle East is the way it is because of over a century of foreign countries meddling with it for it's oil. Is the solution now to bomb ISIS to oblivion? But isn't that kind of approach what led to ISIS in the first place? if not... can we leave the Middle East alone, relatively, without fucking up the world economy because of our total reliance on oil? Can we trust a place that has been so fucked over, repeatedly, to reform itself without external help? Or does it need the same sort of occupation after post-WW2 to rebuild without the spectres of fascism rising again?

In all honesty, the more foreign countries get involved in the Middle East the more fucked up it becomes. Look at what's happened to Afghanistan since the 60s. It's basically been at war since the fucking 1960s. Compare pictures and look at what's happened to that country. It's fucking disheartening... but also just about what you'd expect for a country that's been constantly struggling for over 50 years.

Celebrating my birthday in Manchester as news of the Manchester Arena bomb broke. The anger is monumental.
For what reason will this ever stop?

Theresa May says such attacks "will not break us", but her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues. Also, "will not break us" means that the tragedy will not break her, or her policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken - thanks all the same, Theresa. Sadiq Khan says "London is united with Manchester", but he does not condemn Islamic State - who have claimed responsibility for the bomb. The Queen receives absurd praise for her 'strong words' against the attack, yet she does not cancel today's garden party at Buckingham Palace - for which no criticism is allowed in the Britain of free press. Manchester mayor Andy Burnham says the attack is the work of an "extremist". An extreme what? An extreme rabbit?
In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private. Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The people have no such protections.

Unfortunately western countries are more concerned with milking every bit of oil and opium they can from the Middle East than protecting our own people and the future of our children, I dread to think how many more similar  attacks we will witness over the next 10 years and it's a Fucking frightening thought. Everywhere i have been over the last couple of days I could sense tension and anxiety in people imagine what it's gonna be like when more of these attacks happen. It's a scary situation we're in and you it's only gonna get worse by the year. We are absolutely fucked.

After 7/7 everyone thought this was doomsday scenario and we'd be plagued by attacks, but the security services have kept well on top of it. The threat is evolving and we will have to too, how on earth people are travelling to Libya and back again, seemingly freely, I don't know, travel to such places has to be vetted and any suspicion has to be acted on. It seems this person had been reported to the security services several years ago too.

This is one of the top replies to Morrissey and I feel it encapsulates 'head in the sand' lives of the modern west.

Alex Slattery: I idolize you and have done for years but please do not use this event to try and spread fear amongst people. We target these sort of tragedies with kindness and compassion and to show that those who wish to break our spirit that it won't work. For the love that never dies. X

Really mate?

99% of people aren't political heads in this world!  They go about their daily lives trying to sort things out for their families and even though our politicisans go around playing God with other societies, that doesn't sort out the devastation for people that have lost something like this:

DAfC8LVXoAA4dmi_1-large_trans_NvBQzQNjv4

15-year-old Olivia Campbell, whose mother left TV presenters in tears ...

Impact news? Yeah!  So what!  It exists and someone has lost (as much as many others in that attack and other attacks that occur daily everywhere) a 15 year old daughter because she went to a fucking concert.  WE THE PEOPLE don't control our politicians or their foreign policies...  We LIVE OUR LIVES as you are doing where you live mate.  We are normal people, that mother that has lost the child she invested so much love, attention and strength doesn't give a shit about what our country has been dipping their dirty little fingers in throughout time.  Yeah...  It's easy for those of us that stand by and can be the third party while someone else's life has been destroyed in a matter of seconds by religious fanatical cunts.

I don't think that mother, father, brother or whatever else is connected to that girl and others everywhere else want to listen to foreign policy bollocks even if that is that actual cause of animals strapping bombs to themselves in the name of a god.  If this wasn't such a travesty, those imbeciles that do what they do would actually be hilarious.

Well, you know it does matter knowing these things. Having your head in the sand causes these things to happen. Do you think that this would have happened if security were properly checking everyone? No, but it did happen because they were being lazy during HIGH ALERT, and they had their heads in the sand (it couldn't possible happen to us! Bad things don't happen to the main character in the story) People should care because if they didn't it'd just happen again to another child, maybe one day their carelessness would be the cause of more death. So, yeah they should care maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but their comes a time when someone has to move past grieving. Everyone should care no matter who they are, that the government justifying it's right to existence by protecting the safety and rights of the people that it governs.

No matter how small the change, or how small the person, it matters that they care and try to make a difference. I know a family from South Carolina that discovered one day during a backyard science experiment unusually high levels of lead in the soil. They took the matter to their local government and dominoes fell, now the issue of lead regulation is being taken into consideration by the state government.

VIGILANCE is needed not just from the government but from everyone, THE PEOPLE. Me being aware that my friend is too drunk to drive is potentially saving a life. It matters.

Classical Fascism could do a job as well...

Britain gets punished for its role in removing Gaddafi from power. Too bad the price had to be paid by young girls going to a pop concert. I truly hope hell exists so that people like Blair and Cameron can burn in it for all eternity.

If the socialists of today behaved like those in the '80s, I would most likely vote for them.

Fascism is too inherently unstable and self-destructive, much like Islamism it is a creed of emotional quasi-religious fervour with nothing at its heart.

Hey, I didn't say it was a good solution but a fascist state that prohibits all religion and puts the state above the individual would definitely work.

No mate, no!

I don't have time anymore to think because I'm a father of a 1 year old boy.  When I come home from work I don't listen to the news anymore because unless something like what happened in Manchester occurs, I play with my son and when he goes to sleep I go soon after.  I wake up in the morning and have a lot of decisions to make and a lot of meetings to attend to.  When that's ended, I go home and then you have what I said at the start.  On weekends when I'm off I concentrate on my son and my wife apart from other things I have to do around the house because I live a family life and my wife controls my free time with many things that need doing.

On my holidays I go on holiday and I disconnect because I'm mentally and physically knackered.  I enjoy my time with my family and then soon after I return back to the world in the first paragraph.

That in my opinion is the life of most men that are fathers and care about their family and the time they have to give to them.  I go about my way with my family enjoying every minute I have with them like for example going to a concert where my son likes the singer (if he were that age) and because I'm living my life freely, I wouldn't go about checking if there are any critical terrorist alerts in what I consider to be a free city called London.

That's life!  That's my free life...

Because if it were any other way there wouldn't have been 21,000 people in the Manchester Arena the other night.  Parents don't want their children to be at risk, and people in general don't want to be where there's a risk of a retard that believes in a god that forbids certain meats and tells you to wash your feet before you bow to him in a public building...  People (most people) don't concern themselves with these things because they're too busy with everything else they have going on around them in life.
