Cicero 4,012 Posted October 29, 2020 Should rotate here. Lampard hinted at fatigue in some players. Mendy James---Silva---Zouma---Chilwell Kante Kovacic----Mount Ziyech----------------------------Pulisic Tammy
Cicero 4,012 Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) Exact lineup except Havertz for Kovacic Pulisic injured in warm up. Werner in. Edited October 31, 2020 by Cicero
carefreeluke 616 Posted October 31, 2020 The thing we lack in this shape with Pulisic pulling out late is someone who can beat a man, I don’t know why Lampard is so reluctant to use Hudson-Odoi who can do that. With Mount and Havertz in forward positions we get in between the lines a lot more. Mount has easily been one of the best players on the pitch, it’s games like this which pass a lot of fans by. carefreeluke 616 Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) Zouma on the right has been a worry the whole game.
Cicero 4,012 Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) Wish we replaced Carvalho with Thiago Silva back in 2010. Controlled half but we need more. Wasted opportunities.

Thing is we always suddenly lose control of things, there were a few times at the end of the half where we lost our shape. Need to kill the game.
Cicero 4,012 Posted October 31, 2020 Zouma 0-2 Completely free on the box
Cicero 4,012 Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) 0-3 Werner Cohesive performance. Took some time but it looks like Lampard has finally resorted back to our original system. Mount 10x the player now he’s playing in his natural position.
Spike 2,960 Posted October 31, 2020 Typical Werner goal, from the left moving in the channel.

Cicero 4,012 Posted October 31, 2020 God forbid another lockdown and at the restart Lampard goes back to the same chopping and changing again. Great performance. Much like this time last year, it’s evident this system and style of play suits the players the most. Another clean sheet.

It's a shame Thiago left Milan for PSG and therefore is not recognized as one of the best defenders of his generation like he deserves to be.

Fair enough for the odd game but apart from that he needs to consistently stick to something.

The only reason there were people pushing for football to be abandoned was because the title was guaranteed for Liverpool. That is how England operates, it was nothing to do with the virus but English people's dislike of Liverpool.

6666 863 Posted November 2, 2020 Not many seem to be talking about how bad Burnley have been. Fulham seem to be taking most of the attention for only having a point so far. I can definitely see Burnley finally going down this season.

If they get this takeover through before January you can see the owners splashing some cash to try and save them.

They played pretty well against Spurs which is the only time I've watched them this season. I think they'll be fine. At some point they'll go on one of their runs of shithousing 6 wins in 8 games against West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, Fulham, Sheffield United and Southampton which suddenly propels them into the top half without anybody noticing. I think Sheffield United are in big trouble this season but West Brom have been almost as useless as Fulham bar half a game against Chelsea. For me, it's one spot, who goes down with the latter two there.

Every time Burnley have a bad start and we talking about how shit they've been, they end up shithousing a few results and doing better than anyone could expect as @RandoEFC said. I think it's better we just sort of don't talk about it as though it's weird and hopefully it never ends.

carefreeluke 616 Posted November 2, 2020 (edited) I don't think they were that bad against us, was still a difficult game. I do however think that their playing style and identity has limitations though even when they're playing well.
