Not surprising!  I have kept silent these last few weeks, but Baum has been picking his team with no idea of which are his best players.  Regular team members have been not only under-performing, but have been going on to the field with a negative approach - at times we have been playing so far backwards that the pressure on the keeper has been greatest from his own colleagues.  Instead of suspending Harit he should have sat him down and asked one of the best members of his squad what and why this had happened - but, like Tedesco, his ability to communicate with his men was non-existant.  Being given the best of youth talent to look after at top level is very different from inheriting a bunch of men who were not even half together on the field or in confidence and he has paid the price for his inability to use the best players and 'rest' the Ozcipkas' who have been producing very little this term..  A recent comment on the Uth injury by the BT amateur commentator this week was typical - we have lost our most dangerous forward to injury - what? - we let him go to Koln on loan and when they realised he wasn't up to their standard they sent him back and we took out the kids to let him play and score 1 goal all season in the BL - very dangerous!  OK so the kids might not have done better, but at least they would have had a chance - regular play - to either improve or show that they were not ready - the results could not have been worse in any case.  Nothing was learned from Tedesco's inability to talk and let Goretzka and Meyer go for nothing since which the mid-field has been totally lacking in providing anything to the front men.  Bringing Huub back to try and get the gang together may sort things in the short term, but we can only wish this year is the reverse of 2019/20 - up at the top half way though and struggling at the end.  Man U played last night like Leeds have played all season - sometimes it's brilliant - other times it doesn't work, but the intensity and fitness and effort is great to watch - even when LU lose you feel happy that at least they have run their hearts out!  Would really be nice if Huub can get that attitude back for Saturday!

They always wheel out Stevens when Schalke are in trouble xD

Yes, that's very true. But Huub taking control of first team affairs again is not necessarily a bad thing. He's been one of their most successful managers in the past and he will be hard pressed to get Schalke playing any worse than they already have been performing this season. Hopefully he manages to give the team more shape and improves the players confidence levels.
