I do wonder whether it would be better for Newcastle if they got relegated became unprofitable so Ashley sells them @Steve Bruce Almighty

Ashley is a willing seller. We have a willing buyer. The Premier League blocked the sale. It's in the courts now.

The price is £320m. That covers everything Ashley has spent on the club and put down on the books as "debt" owed to him, plus gives him a large bit of undeserved profit. If we get relegated, based on what he demanded the first time we went down, the asking price would drop to £100-150m and £100-200m would be left on the books as debt repayable to him within a negotiated time period.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Salah would get murdered for this. Rashford will be called clever.

Literally no one has done that here though. Just revisionist crap again :what:.

Even @DeadLinesman criticised it. When Salah does it, fans are quick to point out the English players who also do it don't get called out for it and as if there's a different attitude to them doing it. Yet in this thread Rashford has been called out for it. I can't remember the last time someone like Kane or Vardy or Sterling dived and they were called clever for doing it. Happy to be proved wrong.

"I've been saying for many years it is about the accumulation of points.

"We've been stuck on 25 points for a little while, we have to win a few games to get to that magic figure, whatever it it is."

Can't help but feel this is a big part of the problem. The whole club, the fans, the press, everyone has long given up on trying to get to 40 points and replaced it with let's get to whatever Fulham can't get to. It's a mindset that will keep getting us pulled back in, that gives us a false sense of security whenever the gap extends temporarily.
