Historic, really. Just 5 more goals to go with 8 matches left. Do you think he will match or even surpass the 40 goal mark?

Part of me doesn't like seeing old records beaten, I like seeing Gerd Mullers name up there, but good luck to him.

Mental how fast things are changing in football, not even four years ago all pundits banged about how Gerd Müller's record can't be reached in modern times- now it's likely Lewandowski will match or even better his 40 goals. Would prefer if he didn't though, indeed liked the idea of seeing Gerd Müller's name on the top, well it's unlikely Lewandowski will overtake his record for scoring the most goals during the entire Buli career.

Also I would not like such a record to be broken in a season without fans. In a way what we are seeing these days is football under artificial circumstances.

Lewandowski picked up a ligament injury in his knee, perhaps he won't break Müller's record after all.

Missing the rest of the season :o ?

Harry Kane already broke this record the EPL is tougher and more competitive than the bundesliga. One goal in England is worth two in German.

What are the chances? If he plays against Mainz on the weekend he has 4 matches remaining; 6 goals to break the record or 5 to tie. Definitely still doable :)

He'll get the record.  He's unplayable.

When was the last time the Bundesliga was so weak in terms of competitiveness?

To be fair it's very competitive top spot and rock bottom aside. The relegation fight is fascinating, on a side note, when was the last time, the Premiership wasn't won by ten or more points?
