ScoRoss
After the success of last year's refurbished tournament, the draw for next year's tournament will take place on Friday night. Hopefully there can be a Dundee Derby and an Edinburgh Derby in the group stages.
Smiley Culture
Looking forward to this draw later, I think its changed the League Cup for the better, based on last summer's inaugural tournament. Theres potential for some really strong groups here, too.
ScoRoss
The Dundee clubs are the story of the draw. So at least there will be one Dundee Derby next season. Also a great draw for Highland League Champions Buckie Thistle, probably the best draw they could get for getting big away crowds at their games. ScoRoss
If in need of some competitive football to view over summer, BT Sport have it covered.
Administrator Stan Posted June 6, 2017 Administrator Share Posted June 6, 2017 excellent. why does it start so early though? Kilmarnock play on 14th July!
Toony
I'm going to go all out on a limb and predict that Celtic will win the tournament.
ScoRoss
Just trying to give fans 'Summer Football'. They also now have the final at the end of November, which works really well in my opinion because then the 'big clubs' don't have the League Cup and Scottish Cup overlapping. It also condenses the competition and doesn't feel like it goes on for ages.
Smiley Culture
Think the competition is a breath of fresh air for Scottish Football. Last season's competition proved successful and gives fans summer football and an opportunity to play a few unfamiliar names.

Dunfermline much the better side and there was one occasion where a ball was clearly going out for a corner but Nowak (Hearts player) decides to attempt a volley for a cross and it ends up going out for a goal-kick. There were no Dunfermline players around him either
ScoRoss
Dundee United won the group ahead of Dundee, but the 'seeded' teams aren't guaranteed a home game. So their reward is an away tie against Dundee the 'unseeded' team. What a mockery they have made of this!
Administrator Stan Posted July 30, 2017 Administrator Share Posted July 30, 2017 what the fuck. Was it too complicated for them to not organise it so that you can't play teams that were in the same group as you, seeded or not!?

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 9, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted August 9, 2017 Celtic won 5-0, as did Hibs against Ayr United. Both into the quarter finals along with Livingston and Partick Thistle. The other four quarter finalists decided tomorrow, Rangers playing Dunfermline as well as a Dundee derby. ScoRoss
Dundee take a deserved lead through a wonderful goal. But out of nowhere Dundee United have equalised five minutes before half time.

ScoRoss
Dundee deservedly win the second Derby of the season. Dundee United missed a good chance late on, but were second best throughout.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 10, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted August 10, 2017 Rangers beat Dunfermline 6-0 to advance along with Dundee, Aberdeen and Motherwell. The quarter final draw looks unlikely to throw up any shocks: Hibernian v Livingston Dundee v Celtic Partick Thistle v Rangers Motherwell v Aberdeen Ties take place on 19 September. Celtic away so they might have trouble? Reaching there for sure...
ScoRoss
Quarter Final week. Must say since the international break, Aberdeen seem to have lost momentum. Hard game away to Motherwell. I hope that McInnes doesn't get cute and try to change the team again.
Administrator Stan Posted October 21, 2017 Administrator Share Posted October 21, 2017 Hibs vs Celtic on now and both teams wearing their away kit. Celtic's is nice tbf.
ScoRoss
Typical winger loses concentration after a corner, loses his man and Celtic are 1-0 up. Hibs are sitting off Celtic and allowing them to play the game at a slow tempo. They just got ran off the pitch midweek, why Hibs aren't trying to raise the tempo is beyond me. Seems they are just happy to stand off and accept their fate.
Administrator Stan Posted October 21, 2017 Administrator Share Posted October 21, 2017 another for Celtic, another for Lustig, another poor error from the keeper who should be doing better. Not seen Hibs much but out of the times I have, this is the worst I've seen them. They look so slow and laboured.
ScoRoss
The Hibs team are overrated since their draw at Celtic Park, against a Celtic team that was resting several players. They are a decent team, but lack quality in a lot of areas still. Stokes isn't as effective as a lone striker and they could really do with some with the energy and pace of Simon Murray playing ahead of him. They played this same team last week against Aberdeen, and it was an easy day for their centre backs with no one really threatening to run past or away from them. Administrator Stan Posted October 21, 2017 Administrator Share Posted October 21, 2017 that is such a terrible decision by the linesman to give that penalty! Ball clearly won. Hibs back in it.
ScoRoss
Dreadful decision for the penalty. But even worse defending up the other end and Dembele seals the victory for Celtic.
