I love a good atmosphere as much as anyone. But a sold out stadium with 67k people, without any chance of distancing etc. it does seem a bit much with covid still looming.

Everyone is either vaccinated or tested max 72 hours before the match, and also wearing a mask. Don't see a problem.

Rafa Silva and Renato Sanches made an impression.

Gonna be interesting to see if that's enough to convince Fernando Santos they deserve to start next match.

Rafa in particular for me. Came on, started moving the ball faster and was involved a lot more.

Harsh on Hungary, but to be honest other than the offside goal they did fuck all. The first goal from Portugal was incredibly lucky, but they then take that momentum to grab a quick penalty and then Ronaldo pops up with a third for good measure.

Best team won, and a vital win considering France and Germany are also in the group.

Ah ok, I didn't know that. But nobody was really wearing a mask. xD

Yeah fair enough, I wasn't watching, just read the stadium entry requirements earlier xD

It was at least 80% full.

Interesting because only 70% capacity was legally allowed...

Renato maybe but William and Danilo had good games. It's tough. Renato's agressiveness on the ball was definitely refreshing though.

No chance for Rafa. Ends up with two assists and the penalty is a foul on hin but he's more erratic than the other options in the 90 minutes.

Felt a bit gutted for the Hungary side in the end. First time in the tournament I've seen some "Premier League" standard officiating - that linesman surely didn't think the offside for the Hungary disallowed goal was marginal? Anyway, good win for Portugal, felt very Spain-Sweden until they got the breakthrough.

Definitely not offside. It was a well worked goal, brillant. The type of goal you'd expect Portugal to score with the talent they currently have.

I don't want Ronaldo to break Daei's record :( - but he's going to very soon

If he keeps going the way he is its going to be a while before anyone breaks his record (Ronaldo's).

Agree with this. 3-0 massively flatters Portugal tbh. I thought Hungary dealt with them perfectly until the lucky deflected goal (which came from a fortunate deflected cross).
