That was 25 years ago. Palace and England lose every final and every penalty shoot out. My record is 8-1. The one being Columbia. I mentioned earlier during the tournament my dad was 30 during italia 90 and my mum was seven months pregnant. Carbon copy of my life. I understand picking the order up to a point, but once Rashford missed, everything changed. The Saka pen especially. It's not a talented cocky young lad hammering them in top bins after training, it's a 19 year old kid with the weight of a nation and a world class GK in front of him. First half was all ours and besides the small period in extra time where we actually saw the ball and kept it for more than two passes, Italy were on top overall so can’t really have any complaints about them winning but the England penalties that were missed were poor, especially Saka’s and Sancho’s. Still, an exceptional tournament from an English perspective where we’ve gone further than I’ve ever seen us and it really wasn’t a fluke and Southgate made plenty look stupid, which was satisfying.
