CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers

Recommended Posts

With the Euros being over and the Gold Cup under way, it's about time we started paying attention to this as it enters into the 3rd Round where teams who have the remotest hope of actually getting their are left.

Byed into 3rd Round on Ranking

Mexico

United States

Costa Rica

Jamaica

Honduras

Qualified in Second Round

El Salvador

Canada

Panama

Home and away matches for every team against every team - so 14 matches each. All of these teams have played in a world cup before so nothing for the debutant hunters here

However some long gaps on last appearances - El Salvador looking for first since 1982, Canada first Since 1986, Jamaica first since 1998

Would love to see El Salvador pull it out the bag.

Read an article on the Athletic that speculates 21 points should be enough to qualify.  Looking at the US team roster I'm amazed at the quality we have now.  I'm really looking forward to seeing this team in action.

Just saw there is no VAR because the majority of countries in CONCACAF can't do it.

Here's an idea, how about we quit funding overseas terrorists and instead gift the entire conference with VAR?

Buchanan is looking good. He was linked to Augsburg for some time, and from what I'm seeing, I would have liked to see him in Red and Green.

Miles Robinson missed a sitter in game one, and misses a tougher one tonight. This is such a disappointing result, even without Gio Reyna, McKinney, and Weah, we have to be doing better. We are so much better than Canada and there is no reason for us to be drawing at home to them.

Canada up 2-0 already on El Salvador after just 22 minutes.

Panana vs Mexico is about to kick off.

Later tonight is Costa Rica vs Jamaica, and then Honduras vs USA.

If Canada does win, USA will be in trouble if they don't 3 points tonight.

So far only getting 2 points from El Salvador and Canada is pretty pathetic. We need to win tonight.

Canada with a great performance vs Mexico in an away game not many get the better of Mexico.
this Canada team is matching up to Mexico for the past year or so.
this weekend has important games vs Jamaica and Panama which historically have been tricky.
mid the get through those games without defeat, their chances for World Cup 2022 is very good

Ill share this here as well but this might be the best goal in the history of Canada, Davies...just oh my. Timely goal as that was the go ahead 2-1 at the time..ended up 4-1 after conceding the first to Panama. Big win.

Historic win for Canada 2-1 over Mexico last night moving them into first place for the time being. With Davies not really figuring into much for once the team still looked strong. Heres the updated standings but things looking real good for the good guys.

Huge win for Canada but it’s a bit disheartening that 4th place is only 2 points behind.
dont relish a playoff fixture
