You wouldn't believe it now but we were considering signing him in 2010 for 5m Euro... Don't know if we made an actual offer, if we decided against it, or if Lewandowski rejected our offer in favour of BVB, but it's crazy to think about it now.

Crazy right... We nearly had Neymar sign for us when he was an emerging talent believe it or not the Santos club president said back then "it was almost a certainty that he would sign for Chelsea" don't know what happened there but we would only have sent him on loan for 5 years then flogged him for near fuck all knowing us..

As @nudge said, it was Blackburn. We were in the Championship at that point in time so would have stood no chance anyway.
