Nothing tops what he accomplished and what he did in 2002, doesn’t matter how many goals he scored for Barcelona or the two hundred games he missed for Inter. Returning from catastrophic injuries, dominating La Liga and winning the world cup is better than anything he did for Barcelona or Inter. Also eight years in the 90s and the entirety of the 00s means less than half of his career was in the 90s, regardless of when you think he peaked. Nah. 2002 was amazing and made me like him even more as a young teen but as a decade he was better in the 90’s rather than 2000’s. His career started in 1993 when he started averaging a goal a game throughout the rest of that decade. By the end of the 2000’s he was a shadow of what he once was, due to the injuries. Before his first career threatening injury in 1999 when he was only 23 was when he was at his peak. He was the best young player of all time and would have har an even better 2000’s had it not been for his knee. He was averaging a goal a game in the 90’s at such a young age, and a lot of them crazy solo goals. That figure dropped significantly in the 2000’s.
