Red flag in Imola allowed Hamilton to unlap himself and ultimately get back up to 2nd place after sliding off track and damaging his car. Red flag in Silverstone allowed Mercedes to make repairs to Hamilton's car ahead of his ultimate victory that they later admitted would have forced them to retire if the race hadn't been stopped. Cuts both ways for all of the drivers throughout their careers. Can't be arsed with it now though as all of the fanboys of both drivers will dominate the discourse with their petty nonsense due to the point we're at in the Championship. We get far too many red flags in F1 these days though. This one seems soft but it also isn't inconsistent with some of the others we've seen since Michael Masi became the race director. I get Hamilton's frustration. There's plenty more to come here though like I said. Not a chance they cruise the next 38 laps to the chequered flag without incident. Bottas has broken the rules behind the safety car. Hamilton just broke the rules on the second formation lap there. Verstappen almost caused a collision there and will surely be investigated too.
