Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 10, 2022 Author Subscriber Share Posted April 10, 2022 Results - Australian Grand Prix - @MUFC was the big winner from qualifying, the only contestant to choose the right pole-sitter in Charles Leclerc and pick the (rounded up) pole time of 1 minute and 18 seconds, scoring 5 points for each. @OrangeKhrush also bagged 5 points for the bonus question, while @RandoEFC, @Tommy, @Coma and @Stan also got points on the board for backing Leclerc for pole. - Retirements for Verstappen and Sainz decimated the scoring potential for the podium positions with 6 out of 9 players backing both of them to finish in the top three. @Whiskey was the only one with the foresight to predict a Mercedes podium but chose the wrong driver, while @nudge and @OrangeKhrush were the only ones to back Sergio Perez for a top-three finish, and were damaged further by Max Verstappen's retirement shifting Checo one place further up than their predicted P3, securing them 2 points each instead of five. - Everyone backed Charles Leclerc to finish on the podium, meaning that 5 points went to @RandoEFC, @Tommy, @MUFC and @Whiskey for putting the Monegasque in 1st place, and 2 points went to @Coma, @Stan, @nudge, @OrangeKhrush and @DeadLinesman for putting him 2nd. - Nobody predicted a 14th-placed finish for random driver Kevin Magnussen. @MUFC's discipline in waiting until after all practice sessions were concluded to make his predictions allowed him to make a better assessment of Haas' prospects this weekend, and came closest to the correct position with 16th place. The 2 points @MUFC bags here over everyone else caps a strong weekend for him with comfortably the highest score in a low-scoring round. What does this do for the standings? @DeadLinesman's two-point week allows @Tommy to reclaim the top spot overall. @nudge remains in close contention with @MUFC's strong week allowing him to move up to a closer 4th place. With the whole field covered by 22 points, this championship is so far proving to be more of a close-run thing so far than the F1 Drivers' Championship!
