Odegaard should have buried that chance. Went for power and no accuracy. Even if Alisson didn't save it, van Dijk or Matip would have stopped it. Firmino made an instant impact, took the goal nicely. I am interested in seeing where Arsenal/Arteta go from here, particularly next season. Clear this team is lacking experience and a bit of quality in certain areas, but this is the first time in a while Arsenal didn't simply roll over against City/Arsenal without putting in a fight, with such a young squad too. It was either playing midfielders at the back or playing Nat Phillips & a kid or that shite Turkish lad we loaned in as a desperation play. I wasnt expecting much from this game anyway though, Arsenal always fold against liverpool and i didnt think it would be any different this time. I think that was pretty similar to the last time we played them in the league, but certainly better from them. Last time around they had a good first half but completely capitulated after we scored our first goal. In this one, Arsenal played well up until we scored and then they just went flat. It's certainly better from them, and tbh I expected them to be better considering the form they've been in and the fact Arteta's genuinely improved them slowly over the seasons. Manchester city 'might' have 6 more points if they were injury free and had bought a striker. Liverpool 'might' have 6 more points if Robertson wasn't injured ect ect.
