Rafa Benitez Frustrated At Newcastle

Recommended Posts

This has come back up from a different paper now. Independent this time. Though not that he will walk, but rather that he is pissed.

Stinginess holding us back in the market.

We had an £8m bid for Jacob Murphy turned down but don't look too keen on bothering to offer more.

The worrying thing is that the person who reported it is the man he wrote his book with so it's likely to be true. If we haven't got anyone in by the end of next week I think he'll be thinking twice about staying.

Stinks of Rafa wanting an easy way out, he's done the easy bit albeit marginally and now there's a bit of a test in establishing Newcastle as an upper mid table side. Make out transfers aren't what he wants and leave avoids any embarrassment.

He could have left at the end of last season?

Under what pretence? This way he has an excuse. I rate Benitez higher than some but he's got an undeserved reputation as some kind of hardballer who only leaves because of bad owners; he left Liverpool because he took a top class team down the spiral. Look at the way he treated Alonso.

What a load of bollocks! You obviously know fuck all about what happened at Liverpool which led to him leaving.

Please, just leave it at that xD

Look at our net spend the season Alonso left and why he came out against the owners that had us in financial dire straights and face to face with administration. He was hamstrung in his final season at Liverpool. Blaming him for going to the press with how shite the situation was at Liverpool is foolish - had he not done that, it's likely Gillet and Hicks would've remained owners for much longer and we'd probably have been in administration with Hodgson as manager, without getting sacked as he rightfully was.

Mate, don't let facts get in the way of a nice story from Hull.

Can't disagree with this. As it is, that side needs a decent chunk of investment or a managerial masterclass to stay up. Why not lay the foundations of his excuse early, in the event he bottles it completely (not out of the question, seeing as this season will actually be a challenge)?
