No qualifying for Ocon after FP3 crash.

I feel that there will be red flags here based off what occurred in practice. Who knows, maybe there will be so many delays that Alpine actually end up fixing his car in time.

The operating window for that Mercedes is just all over the place. Both drivers flailing wildly between comfortable best of the rest and mixing it with Aston Martin.

Daniel Ricciardo... not far off the point where we have to start questioning him seriously. Brilliant win at Monza last year but the new cars this year were supposed to be the chance for a big reset after a difficult year but he's still getting handily swept by Lando Norris.

Stroll having one of those weekends where he looks like an actual good driver and not Latifi in a mask.

Ferrari with the lockout. Verstappen mistake on the final attempt after taking provisional pole on the first runs. Perez not near the pace to compete with Bottas best of the rest in P5.

VAI CHARLES, VAI VAI! Pee-Wan!

Also very strong Qualifiying from Bottas. That Alfa looks good! What a shame that Zhou got blocked in Q1. And Gasly beat Tsunoda when it mattered, despite the former looking a bit ahead all weekend.

I like the track and the spectacle overall here, apart from that horrible chicane which reminds me of the similar fiddly thing they originally had at the Singapore track but eventually got rid of. We'll see what sort of racing it produces tomorrow.

I don't know what happened to the Mercedes between yesterday and today but the porpoising really hasn't been that much of an issue this weekend so we probably need to reconsider how much stock gets put in the theory that once they fix that, they might actually be as good as Ferrari and Red Bull.

Norris said the drivers fed back about this and were basically ignored. Apparently Ocon's accident was 51G! It feels like there's a serious problem brewing between the FIA and the GPDA at this rate. Five races into the season we've already had the Saudi missile issue, the underwear and jewellery bullshit and now drivers openly accusing the authorities of not caring enough about their safety.

Honestly don't get the outrage and protests about this. It's basic safety regulations  as wearing non-fireproof clothing and certain types of jewelry can both be a serious injury risk in a crash. You don't want some synthetic boxers melting into your crotch, nor do you want your necklace or ring or whatever getting caught, stuck and severing any of your body parts in high impact crashes. The regulations have been there in most racing series for ages too, they just weren't properly implemented in F1, apparently.

Why?

His grid walk earlier. Not knowing anyone. Going up to people 'who are you?'
