UPS and DOWNS

CHAMPIONSHIP
image.png

  • Sheff Utd & Luton need to match Middlesbrough & Millwall's results to confirm their play-off spots
  • For Middlesbrough to get into the play-offs they need:
    • To win (if Luton also win) by more than 2 goals and hope Sheff Utd draw (or lose)
    • To win (if Sheff Utd also win) and hope Luton draw or lose
  • Millwall can qualify for the play-offs if they win and Middlesbrough & Luton lose, as well as Sheff Utd losing and having a 5-goal swing in GD.

LEAGUE TWO
image.png

  • Exeter need to match Forest Green's result to be promoted as Champions
  • Forest Green need to draw or win and hope Exeter lose to be Champions

  • Northampton need to match the results of the current play-off positions to finish in 3rd and also be promoted
  • Bristol Rovers need to win and hope Northampton lose. If they draw, as well as still needing Northampton to lose, they'll need to hope Mansfield & Port Vale lose too.
  • Mansfield need to win and hope Bristol Rovers & Northampton lose, or draw and hope Northampton lose by more than 5 as well as Rovers, Port Vale and Swindon to lose.
  • Port Vale need to win and hope the three above them don't win
  • Swindon need to win and hope Northampton & Bristol Rovers lose, and Mansfield & Port Vale to draw at best. To stay in the play-offs, they need to win, or draw and hope Sutton lose.
  • Sutton need to draw and hope Swindon lose by 6 as a minimum. If they win and one of Mansfield, Port Vale or Swindon lose, they'll be in the play-offs.
  • Tranmere need to win and hope Port Vale lose by 7+, or Swindon/Sutton to lose. They can qualify if they win by 6+ goals, Sutton draw/lose, and Swindon draw.

Kind of petered in to a nothing day after Bournemouth beat Nottingham Forest.

Gaffr could be a bloodbath with all the rotation.

I'm quite enjoying my resurgence. Happy with my 3rd spot and high OR in the whole game.

Hahaha Reading keeper has done what every keeper will fear in their career. Didn't look behind him, rolled the ball out and the Luton player took it and scored xD

Is it wrong to assume Fulham have been in holiday mode ever since they secured automatic promotion? Their form in the last few games is poor.

Well done Luton, would be ideal if they could get promoted but it’ll be Forest or Sheffield that do it.

Yeah, Fulham have been pretty meh. I dont hold much hope for them next season. @Dannymade a good post elsewhere explaining the qualities a team needs to survive and they havent got any of them.

Luton in the Premier League would be great. That walk through to the away end would be an embarrassment for the global image the suits in PL towers crave for.

I actually think Huddersfield may do it. At no sign this season have they looked like bottling a challenge. Its scrappy 7/10 performances where everybody plays there part.

Yep. Today was the epitome of it.

Bristol Rovers are in their way to turning around the GD over Northampton :o

6-0 up over Scunthorpe. Northampton need to score more...

Ultimately it depends on what they do in the Summer now, if they bring in someone like Raphinha then it changes everything potentially.

There is that. Jacksonville Jaguars have spent an absolutely obscene amount of money on free agents in NFL even for there standards.

It's about bringing in the right player though. I'd argue Seri's standard in Ligue 1 was on a similar footing to Raphinia's. Only one has been bleeding a clubs wage bill for four seasons.
