Goal Difference - Season Two

Last time, we continued the table from the season before so technically this is season 2 but could be season 3. Who the hell knows. @Lucas was the previous winner so he is the one to beat this year.

The premise of the game remains exactly the same. You will be given a list of fixtures, and all you need to do is work out which team will have the higher goal difference for each game.

For example: England Women v Germany Women in the recent Euro 2022 final. If you chose England, your goal difference would be +1 as they won 2-1, but if you chose Germany, you'd lose 1 point due to them scoring one goal less.

If a match ends in a draw, no points are rewarded as there is no goal difference.

Get it? Great!

Here are the first fixtures and then I'll tag everyone who played previously - newcomers always welcome!
Fixtures begin on Saturday so plenty of time!

FIXTURES

Leeds v Wolves
Swansea v Blackburn
Montpellier v Troyes
Stuttgart v RB Leipzig
Caen v Metz
Bradford v Hull
Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland
Luzern v Grasshoppers

RESULTS
slight delay for the results here so my apologies but here they are!

The highest goal swing comes from the Swansea v Blackburn game with a potential for a 6 point swing. Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday also produce a 4 goal swing, with 2 games resulting in 0 points due to draws.

And here is what everybody predicted:

A couple of games were everyone against one with the lone player losing out on both occasions

Table

@Rucksackfranzose leads with 3 points, @Stan and @CaaC (John) collect a single point whilst the remainder of the players are all on minus with myself and @Lucas on -1, @nudge on -3. and @DeadLinesman and @Aladdin on -5 points. For some reason the alphabetical table doesn't work.

Fixtures
Norwich v Huddersfield
Solihull Moors v York
Fiorentina v Twente
Sevilla v Valladolid
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Wolfsburg v Schalke
Bristol City v Cardiff
Aalborg v Brondby

RESULTS
A really easy results post this week. Three draws resulted in 0 points for 3 of the games.

image.png

@Stan was the only person to go for Huddersfield to beat Norwich and failed, so he loses 1 point whilst everyone else gained a point. It was the reverse situation for @Beelzebub who opted for Aalborg to beat Brondby and was the only one to do so, and they did, so he gained a point whilst everyone else lost a point. Both of these players were the lowest scorers of the week, both losing a point overall.

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa and Bristol City v Cardiff had the highest point swing, both at 4 points.

image.png

Three players were joint for highest scorer, @Rucksackfranzose, myself and @DeadLinesman, all scoring 5 points.

The remaining players got a single point each, @CaaC (John), @Lucas and @nudge

image.png

Only three players on positive points, 3 players on zero, and 2 players in the negatives!

Here are the next set of fixtures starting on Wednesday to give you plenty of time:

PSV v Rangers
Sao Paulo v Flamengo RJ
Lazio v Inter
Juventus v Roma
Elche v Real Sociedad
Aston Villa v West Ham
PSG v Monaco
Scunthorpe v Halifax
