So they’re telling people in the camps to drink out of toilets. These people (the people running the camps) belong in prisons themselves. Despicable.

Not really a surprise that people in the US border patrol are raging maniacs but it was surprising to find out how openly they were being cunts in front of government officials that were visiting. In terms of what they get up to when no one's watching, that's the really scary thought.

AOC is the one claiming that to be fair. And there's already major controversy that she's made it up, which wouldn't be at all surprising.

It's not been refuted by CBP.

Instead CBP have said they felt "intimidated" by the Congressmen/Congresswomen that visited the facilities. One of them snuck a camera in to take some pictures too. And before they went, this was released: https://www.propublica.org/article/secret-border-patrol-facebook-group-agents-joke-about-migrant-deaths-post-sexist-memes

So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that these sick people are doing sick things, because they've given plenty of evidence to demonstrate that they are stains on humanity.

Facebook group involving over 9000 employees joking and laughing about immigrants dying and about sexual assault has been discovered. These are the people in charge of other people. It's already known that people, including children, are being packed into cells while being seperated from their families. More needs to be done to make sure that disgusting cunts that will try to get away with mistreating people when given the chance don't get into a position of power like here or when talking about the police or the military.

No doubt that right wing nationalists will claim they can't be questioned at all as they're doing the country's dirty work so every single one of them is a hero and can do no wrong. Idiots.

It has. There's been chief officials and directors that have denied such treatment and have criticised AOC for deliberately misinforming the public. There have been countless visits to the CBP, some of which were even hispanic public figures, and have claimed there was no mistreatment. AOC, a person who is notoriously known for stretching the truth, goes and all of a sudden officers are forcing people to drink out of toilets. Again, credibility is everything here.

That page is honestly sick, and hopefully those people will be held accountable.

That page makes up about half the people who work at CBP.

A few bad apples spoil the bunch. This is at least half the agency of bad apples. The entire agency should be investigated and anyone involved with that page should be sacked immediately.

They won’t be though. They’re doing what the administration wants them to do.

AOC (Alex Oxlade Chamberlain) was not the only member of Congress there. None of them denied what she reported

I also think everyone should take a look at the images (and read the captions underneath each of them) from this PDF. The PDF is a report from the Office of Inspector General saying the DHS must do something to address overcrowding at these facilities. Just look at the pictures, then read the captions: https://www.oig.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/assets/2019-07/OIG-19-51-Jul19_.pdf

And then let's take a look at this Oxford dictionary definition: https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/concentration_camp

I wouldn't imagine high political figures lying about seeing migrants drink out of the toilet. However, I wouldn't put it pass AOC making up "they were forced to do so."

Already officials stating the incident was because the migrant didn't know how to turn the faucet for the sink that's connected to the toilet.

I'm pretty sure they have taps in Guatemala though, so I don't think that believing a woman doesn't understand how to use a tap is as believable thinking CBP is abusing the prisoners in these camps - especially when half the employees are part of a facebook group that glorifies abusing these prisoners.

Officials also used "these officers were stressed at the pressure of Congressmen being there" as an excuse for their appalling behavior. However, being aware of Congressional oversight coming to witness you perform your job would likely make people be on their best behavior, not their worst behavior. It really does beg the question of what the fuck is going on behind closed doors, because prior to this weekend's reporting on that facebook group (btw, why don't the "big" media companies do anywhere near the same kind of quality investigational journalism as ProPublica, a non-profit with nowhere near their resources??) most people wouldn't have assumed that there were people taking sick joy in this sort of treatment of other human beings. Now we've got knowledge of a facebook group containing some really reprehensible stuff with nearly half of CBP as members of that group, and we've got a number of prominent politicians having been to these camps and walking away completely appalled by them.

And that dictionary definition is... well a definition. It should be concerning to everyone in the western world that the U.S. is running camps that fit the textbook definition of concentration camps. Right wing or left wing, everyone should find the treatment of these people absolutely appalling. An egregious defense I've heard of this from the typical right wing talking heads is "well they shouldn't be breaking U.S. laws"... but asylum seekers ARE NOT breaking laws. And even if they were breaking laws, concentration camps are an absolute disgrace.

Anyone supporting these camps that ever has the gall to raise "morality" as an issue ever again for any political issue, is a massive hypocrite who should be never taken seriously on any political issue again. This is a moral failure of the United States, being committed by the U.S. government, with U.S. taxpayer money, in the United States' name.

Yeah, but both of them are symptoms of the disease in American politics rather than the disease itself.

Populism mate and it’s a societal disease that’s spreading the world over.

It comes from a decades long quest to have opinions counter facts, and telling people after decades that their opinions are worth just as much as other peoples' facts. Much of these problems stem from Ronald Reagan dismantling the Fairness Doctrine that regulated American news media.

Add to that that they call themselves “Libertarians” whatever that means in their crooked way. No justice, no security for the downtrodden, no equality and trying to level us all together with tolerance. They will even say that the sugar tax (as one example amongst thousands) are part of a “nanny state” when they will then criticise those that aren’t culpable for the state of our over stretched healthcare system (the NHS in our case)...

Liberty and Justice are the foundations of a protection not just for all but especially for minorities and the weak. We MUST defend this!

A US appeals court has upheld a ruling that bars Trump from blocking people on Twitter because it's discriminatory and unconstitutional

Paige Leskin

A federal court ruled Tuesday that President Donald Trump cannot block people from viewing his Twitter account because it's considered unconstitutional and discriminatory.

Under the ruling, Trump is not allowed to block users on a publicly available platform if he disagrees with their viewpoints. Trump has used his "@RealDonaldTrump" Twitter account in an official capacity throughout his presidency to announce policy changes, share his opinions, and react to critics.

Also he really doesn't like our ambassador, does he? They should sack that fella and appoint me instead.

He (and Bill Clinton) are now alleged to have been involved with parties by this Epstein guy who's being charged for numerous sex crimes with minors. Pretty sick stuff if true: https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-hosted-party-with-jeffrey-epstein-and-28-girls-report-claims

Anyone tied to Epstein's child rape needs to be locked away and the key should be destroyed. And if the allegations prove to take down anyone on either side of the political spectrum, that's a good thing - regardless of whether you're on the left or the right, child rape is fucking sick. I just hope that if allegations strongly link one candidate with being a pedo, that the candidate doesn't get to enjoy the same kind of support that Roy Moore enjoyed in Alabama.
