Gunnersaurus
I personally think certain big games wouldn't be affected by scraping the blackout. However championship games might well be. At the same time clubs might make more money through extra tv games

Subscriber Coma+ Posted October 12, 2022 Subscriber Share Posted October 12, 2022 Personally, I think clubs ought to be able to sell TV season tickets and broadcast matches online if they want.

Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted October 12, 2022 Subscriber Share Posted October 12, 2022 As someone who doesn't live in the town anymore, I'd love to be able to watch 3pm kick offs of Grimsby games! I can only see it benefitting the club. Attendances won't go down as people will still want to go and watch the games in person!

It was first brought in to protect the lower league clubs from losing so many fans attending their games, if games were shown on TV at those times. I get logic but I also feel that the type of fans that can afford and want to go games will go regardless of a match being televised or not. It just makes it unfair to fans that can’t afford to go games, on top of the fact they are probably already paying for cable to watch the rest of the schedule. Though I can’t imagine lower leagues are especially expensive to attend but given enough of those blackouts it might be a bit pricey.
ScoRoss
Would not only effect not only the EFL's television deal, but every television deal in the UK.
