Tbh Gabriel has benefitted a lot from playing with Saliba this season, I can see why they dropped him. You look at Militao, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva...that's 3 great centre back options that he doesn't come near, then it's down to personal choice with the 4th centre back I guess

Has Thiago Silva done that well for Chelsea though?

Militao/Marquinhos I can understand.

Gabriel is better than the current Thiago Silva. Marquinhos benefits from playing for a team where he doesn't have to do anything. Militao is okay. I wouldn't complain too much about them being in the squad though. They have a bigger name and are more well known. Know nothing about Bremer though. Gabriel is a massive set piece threat as well which they won't have.

Their fullbacks aren't great. Especially defensively. Teams will definitely be targeting them there. The midfield is very workmanlike which I guess it has to be because of their attack probably doing zero defensive work but won't be scaring the other big sides.

Using all three of the extra squad places on attackers is very Brazil.

No Firmino :o

Dani Alves still going strong!

Thought Gabriel would have made it as well.

They made that 3rd keeper up just to continue with the ON at the end.

When is Southgate naming his squad?

No doubt pick about 18 defenders.

Some point on Thursday apparently.

My guess will be:

Goalkeepers - Pickford, Pope, Ramsdale

Defenders - Trippier, TAA, James, Maguire, Stones, Coady, Dier, Tomori, Shaw, Justin

Midfielders - Rice, Bellingham, Foden, Mount, Saka, Grealish, Sterling, Maddison, Gallagher, Henderson

Forwards - Kane, Wilson, Abraham

- Ben White if Reece James isn't fit

- Perhaps may have been Ivan Toney if he hadn't had a bit of controversy hanging over him in last few days, but Wilson instead of him.

- I think Tomori should be in, but reckon Guehi may also have a decent shout.

I think it's come to the point where Southgate just cannot ignore Maddison. Especially given some of the injuries that have occurred to some players that have then consequently opened up some spaces across the squad. May not play much, but should get called up.
