Michael
I think it's worth mentioning that former Uruguayan international midfielder, Fabian O'Neill, passed away just a few days ago, on Christmas Day at only 49 years of age. O'Neill, who played for Juventus, Cagliari, Perugia and Nacional, was considered one of Uruguay's most gifted footballers, with even the likes of Zidane, claiming that O'Neill was the most talented of footballing teammates that he had ever played with. O'Neill, whose great-great grandfather was an Irishman from Cork, had struggled with alcohol throughout his life. His troubles with alcohol, forced him to retire early from football, at only 29 years of age, only 20 years later and he has sadly passed away. O'Neill was a member of the 2002 Uruguayan World Cup squad, but he never played at the tournament.
