LFCMadLad 1,961
Frank Lampard has named Steven Gerrard as the best midfielder he's ever faced. In his opinion he was better than Scholes & Keane and is quoted as saying "if you got Gerrard on his day then you could just forget it, the man had everything". https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/liverpool/he-had-everything-frank-lampard-upsets-manchester-united-fans-as-he-picks-the-premier-leagues-best-midfielder-35508009.html Strong words from a bloke that is continually compared to Gerrard and his opinion surely holds more weight than the average football fan? Harry 1,356
Nice sentimental choice but it'd look like sour grapes if he said anyone from the EPL other than Gerrard imo. His get out of jail free card would've been to name a continental Xavi, Pirlo etc.
DeadLinesman 5,158
When people constantly mention Scholes in a Gerrard article. Lovely stuff.
LFCMadLad 1,961
It's not a Gerrrard article, it's a Frank Lampard interview

Cicero 4,729
You'd think he would of chose either Xavi or Iniesta.

Think the best thing we can do is view Ronaldinho's opinion as the objective and put it to bed.
Inverted 1,692
Will never understand the reason that England fans insist on continually comparing their 3 best modern midfielders when they are stylistically so different from each other, never mind comparing them to foreign midfielders who are even further away from their styles. And we all know Lambert and McAllister are the best midfielders to come from these Isles in the last 20 yrs anyway. You would struggle to find an English fan who has a bad word to say about Gary McAllister after Euro '96.
