Feel for you buddy, one of our daughter's pet rat died last week and another one she has had for over 2 years is very ill and the daughters just took her to the vets to be put down, wee Kaiden is heartbroken as that is 2 pet rats gone in 2 weeks, he idolises all of them.

The daughter has decided not to get anymore but she will adopt pet rats and then pass them on to people, she wants to get a wee kitten and will be content with that.

Sorry to hear that too. I actually had pet rats when I was a kid as well. My dad was alergic to most animals so that was one of the things we can sorta get away with. They actually made for pretty good pets but yeah unfortunately they dont have a long life expectancy.

Thanks for the condolences.

That's the problem keeping pet rats is their life span can be around 2 years and a bit and if lucky a lit bit longer, I told the daughter not to get anymore and get a wee cat, Kaiden will love that to bits.

That's our daughter ear-marked a wee kitten from a friend for September as the mother cat gave birth today with 4 kittens and our daughter has chosen one and wee Kaiden has called her Puddin, I don't know why Puddin?  xD

The daughter said she won't be buying any more pet rats as their life span is too short and Kaiden is always heartbroken when one dies, that's 3 rats the daughter has lost now in the last 6 months and vet bills cost a bomb nowadays.

An afternoon visit to our daughters, one of her pet rats, Sushie, isn't looking good at the moment and very quiet and is not eating properly and she just likes nestling into you and being stroked, we just hope she can be around for a wee while longer for Kaiden's sake, the daughter has managed to give her some chocolate so that's not to bad.

Buddy the Gecko having her afternoon stroll, the daughter let her out of her glass air-conditioned enclosured to stretch her legs plus she is shedding her old skin, she will soon have a playmate with wee Puddin when he arrives.

No never let her off the lead apart from on the doggy park. Huskies are runners

That's why I was asking... I have never owned one but when I was staying in Notts the bloke I stayed with had 2 of them, lovely dogs but as soon they were off the lead they were gone.... They also used to trash his kitchen so he built a kennel outside for them but they kept busting out and they were over the fence and away!!

We used to walk them up the Pit Tip on a Sunday morning and it was a nightmare if one got off the lead.. you could be there for 3 hours trying to catch them.. xD
