There are conflicting reports but the lowest Mane would be earning at Bayern is £250,000kpw. Don't think Liverpool would ever consider that for a 30 year old.

Much like what I said regarding Rudiger's departure, this next contract will ultimately be his last big one. He's already won everything at Liverpool and given everything so there really isn't any issue with him doing what ever feasible to get the best deal for himself and family.

I think the Harry Kane situation has made a lot of players in that elite bracket recognise it's more beneficial to let your contracts run down and sign shorter contracts. Harry Kane is no doubt a great player, but because he's tied in to that contract he's watching all those other good Spurs go elsewhere and win trophies (Walker, Eriksen, Trippier etc) whilst he has won nothing.

It's not really a big deal, the goalscorer in a team is traditionally the highest paid.

It's not really 'mental' figures (as described earlier in this thread) when you consider where it puts him among the leagues highest earners either.

Got to think Van Dijk is banging on the door for the same deal now

That's where it might become a big deal in the future though... When you give one individual such a huge salary increase for putting in the goals then the players in the team who create those chances for him or those responsible for keeping the goals out start to think about asking for more...

Curtis Jones is only on £7,500-a-week?

I'd be surprised if it was that low given he signed an improved deal in the summer of 2020. He had signed a long term deal in 2019 prior to that.

You wanna see a real Football player?

This guy is 36 year old..he just took a pay cut to stay at LFC and help build this team..and he just won the 8th pre-season lactate test in a row..he has won every trophy in club Football..zero controversy, tantrum or drama..played 40 games last season, more than a lot of star players...throughout the Klopp era, he has stayed as the squad backbone, looking after the growth of the squad..he is one of the loudest men on the pitch..he has played almost every position except goalkeeper..he takes a pressure penalty and celebrates like an old man..this season, we will see him on the pitch 35-40 games at least and a lot of them will be late on in the season when others are tired and we need to get a goal to stay in the title race. And almost every time, we will come home with the points with a captain's armband on him.

James Milner. The ultimate, real real professional of this generation. 🚩
