They do prefer being the underdogs and reacting to what happens but unfortunately for them there's 14 other opponents all of whom are underdogs against them.

They weren't the underdogs in all that many of the games though, they were favourites against Arsenal most definitely.

Not sure what you're getting at mate? He's 17 so he'd not have many caps regardless of his nationality.

Well Rashford had various appearances before selection. Just trying to figure how he's ahead of other players if he's hasn't had much senior football.

Well he's made about 6-7 appearances for us and played at every level bar the senior team for Wales, so as I said, they'll have seen what he's about.

A big part of capping him sooner rather than later though will obviously be about tying him to Wales because he's a big talent who's tipped to have a big future.

Liverpool are under investigation for allegedly tapping up and offering a forbidden inducement to a Stoke City schoolboy.

The Anfield side are also accused of reneging on an agreement to pay the youngster’s school fees, leaving his parents – who pulled out of a deal with the club as a result – in thousands of pounds of debt.

To compound the family’s woes, the unnamed boy cannot now play for another team until Stoke receive a compensation fee of almost £50,000.

An investigation into the claims was launched earlier this year by the Premier League, which had already been looking into allegations related to a grievance Liverpool had about one of their own schoolboys joining Manchester City.

Both of the controversial transfers date back to last summer, when Liverpool allegedly tapped up a 12-year-old considered to be one of Stoke’s best youngsters.

Stoke had been paying the boy’s school fees as part of a contract signed by his parents, who wanted Liverpool to do the same.

Liverpool are alleged to have agreed to do so until the player turned 16, breaching a rule introduced around that time forbidding the practice unless a club offers to pay for all the schoolchildren on their books to be educated privately.

It is claimed that, on learning of this, Liverpool refused to honour their commitment, leaving the player’s parents liable for thousands of pounds in fees.

Stoke would have continued to pay those fees had the boy not moved to Anfield – even if his former club had released him.

The youngster’s footballing future was also left in limbo because of a controversial rule that prevents him playing for another team until Stoke are paid £49,000 in compensation.

A source with knowledge of the Premier League investigation said: “This is a shocking example of how children in Premier League football are being used and abused.

“This kid has done nothing wrong at all but he’s been left out in the cold and his parents are having to foot the bill for private education that they can’t afford.

“The whole thing is a total disgrace. Everyone at the top of the Premier League and both football clubs are fully aware of what has gone on, and it is something that must be stamped out of the game.

“Everyone knows how children’s lives and education are being ruined with the promise of football riches and it needs to stop.”

Telegraph Sport revealed last year that children as young as 10 were being frozen out of the English’s game’s academy system because of compensation fees parents were unwittingly signing up to.

The Premier League declined to comment on its investigation into Liverpool, one of a handful it is understood to be conducting into alleged breaches of its rules on the transfer of academy players.

It was forced to introduce a new five-step process for ratifying such moves following mounting concerns about the poaching of youngsters within the division.

Shock horror that a club like Liverpool is tapping up youngsters, ashamed by nothing yet offended by everything really is the philosophy across the park.

Is Mane really out for the rest of the season? I'd like to think at some point we'll be able to play our preferred starting XI to the end of a the season. In hindsight, all those players that crowded the midfield positions can now step up and show the boss that they can do the job. Hilarious really considering during the summer everyone was joking about the fact that we kept acquiring attacking players and lo-and-behold we now have an attack issue that could be rectified by those players.

I did see another stat during the Arsenal game yesterday which showed that out of the top 6 we've changed the least in terms of formations used and the only other team with a low change in formation is Chelsea. The top two were Arsenal/City and that makes me wonder whether Klopp has finally found the formation he wants and now all he need are players that can rotate in and out of those positions.

Wouldn't be surprised if Mane doesn't play again this season, the way he landed was horrible and he was in some discomfort.

Big loss for Liverpool as it showed when he went off to the AFCON.

What's worse is that we've also lost Lallana who was getting back into form and Henderson has been out for ages as well. It was nice to see Coutinho and Firmino looking sharper over the weekend but then you have to wonder who is going to step up. Emre Can has apparently been carrying an injury while playing for most of the times he has come on as well.

It's looking like Mane won't play again this season.

Fucking brilliant! And people say luck doesn't play a part in injuries!

All season we have gone from one bad injury to another to key players in crucial areas and nearly all of them have occurred from either impact or falling awkwardly, which is purely down to bad luck.

When i saw him get up I thought "thank the lord" then he started to make that face full of pain and I started thinking "we're proper fucked now". Oh well we can only hope that we can do well now and its not like he's the only person we rely on that's out. If only the league was till December ... if only.
