I dont know how this qualification works if teams are level on points but I think it goes on Goal Difference rather than head to head, So Holland would have to hammer Belarus and Sweden to qualify depending what happens also with Sweden v Luxembourg.

Didn't spot that. Looking at it if you don't at least match Sweden's score against Luxembourg it's as good as over really.

yep, goal difference and then goals scored comes before head to head

  1. Points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss)
  2. Goal difference
  3. Goals scored
  4. Points in matches between tied teams
  5. Goal difference in matches between tied teams
  6. Goals scored in matches between tied teams
  7. Away goals scored in matches between tied teams (if the tie is only between two teams in home-and-away league format)
  8. Fair play points
    • first yellow card: minus 1 point
    • indirect red card (second yellow card): minus 3 points
    • direct red card: minus 4 points
    • yellow card and direct red card: minus 5 points
  9. Drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee

Bas Dost last minute disallowed goal against Sweden which would of won the game, is now the turning point.

that is actually quite surprising considering his decent start to the season. I'd have him there ahead of Payet. I don't think he's pulled up any/many trees at Marseille this season so far.

upcoming fixtures & current table

grpa.PNG

Saturday 7th October:
Sweden vs Luxembourg
Belarus vs Netherlands
Bulgaria vs France

Tuesday 10th October:
France vs Belarus
Luxembourg vs Bulgaria
Netherlands vs Sweden

Most likely Sweden will win on Saturday which means France just need to match their result to remain top. More importantly, Netherlands need to match or better Sweden's result on Saturday in order to stand a chance when they meet on Tuesday. Although it's unlikely they'll qualify in 2nd place due to the large goal difference between the 2 sides in Sweden's favour.

I blame our qualifying on 3 games,     Sweden 1-1 Netherlands - Had a goal dissalowed and there was nothing wrong with it what so ever to make it 1-2 in the 92nd minute.   Netherlands 0-1 France - Should never of lost that game, Stekelenburg made a huge mistake from pogbas shot.    Sweden 2-1 France - Lloris with a huge mistake in the last minute kicking the ball out to Toivonen who scored.

Group table at the moment

France 20 Points

Sweden  19 Points

Netherlands 16 Points

Group table without the bad luck

Netherlands 19

France 19

Sweden 16

now THAT is a great goal. Babel holds it up on the edge of the box, waits for Robben's run just outside the D, and he swings his left foot and curls it round one defender in to the corner of the goal. Brilliant.
