Yes, I think it's part of how they generally are not adapting too well the more sides set up defensively. Emery Villa do have a ball control & play out from the back style. Which has caused as much panic as the high line. But the 2 DMs & trying to be frustrating was ok, when Villa were rightly considered 2nd favourites to most others in most Premier League games. And most sides were looking for 3 points at Villa Park. Now? They seem devoid of ideas of how to break down defence minded opponents. And as Dion Dublin said on commentary, a slow goalkeeper just makes it even more difficult. Villa need to be playing on fast forward, not using the pause button.

Yeah we're used to seeing a dynamic and energetic Villa side. I get there's changes and rotation but it makes for a mid-table end of season game as opposed to 'FA Cup magic'.

Doesn't look that full from what I'm seeing.

Not available here, but the TV  cameras always show the view from the South Stands at Hillsborough which is the fullest stand , so it's hard to judge just by watching on TV. The sites showing the results used to give attendence figures all the time, but that dosent seem to be the case anymore.

Shearer said Arsenal should have been 3 or 4 up after about 20 minutes…the half ended with Arsenal having an xg of 1.50. Other than Odegaard hitting the bar and Nelson early on theres not much to say they should have 3 or 4 lol.

Fair play to the ref, quite a few hard but fair challenges and a couple dives we’ve seen from Odegaard and Diaz on soft challenges and he’s kept the game flowing. Great stuff

Goal. It's almost kind of like you could feel it coming. Liverpool have gradually worked themselves in all game, Arsenal have gotten more and more tetchy, Liverpool finally started making big chances, and eventually took one.

Amateurish from Arsenal, to be honest. Still time to equalise, but never have been in this position.

Arsenal couldn't have asked for a better chance to beat Liverpool.

They also can't expect to compete long term if they think Jesus and Nketiah are good enough options in the centre forward area.

Arsenal become way too intricate sometimes. Against a side like Liverpool it's not going to work all the time.

They’ve been hilariously useless, properly wank in the final third. Love it.

That result reminds me of Arsenal United earlier this season, not an own goal but a stroke of luck for Rice’s shot deflecting in and they managed to win a game that had a draw written all over it by two goals catching United on the break. That win gave Arsenal a massive boost, maybe this will give Liverpool one going into Afcon territory.
