Who are we kidding mate? Australia are shit. Anyone would rather draw Australia than Denmark or Sweden.

Iran are geographically Asian but they're not the kind of side I'm talking about. African and Middle-Eastern sides are way more scary than Asians if oriented correctly.

Having said that, I now fully expect us to draw Australia, lose to them, and end up on someone's signature in here xD

I really don't want to play Germany.

I know it sounds odd, but I have already accepted that we won't come close to winning this thing. I'm not too bothered about how far we get. I'm bothered about putting on a show and good individual performances to market the nations name. Most people will be watching the Germans.

We will lose to them but if we do it with honour, it might open up some of the top scouts.

There's been worse sayings on this forum, and @Anton is a good fella, so I think you'll be fine ;)

To be fair Australia are a decent side, or were a few years back. I remember in 2006 they gave Italy a hell of a fight, and the later only went through because of an offside goal or a penalty that wasn't, can't remember exactly.

Italy cheated.

Heard the Peruvians made it as uncomfortable as possible for the All-Whites. Poor accommodation, delayed planes, poor bus routes, poor training faciliites, etc.

The training facilities I believe was their own fault as they were going to train originally in matute. They chose Markham school (probably because Matute is a fucking shithole)

But we were a lot better than what other countries would have been like. Chile would have beat the shit out of you. Uruguay would have spat and booed like vs Australia in 2006.

Kinda scummy when the team shuttle is intentionally parked over 100 metres away from the training ground and the players are assualted by hundreds of journos.

I'd love for a player to one day describe how much things like those really affect them...  It's a combination of many small situations a team is made to go through before a game.

I wonder if New Zealand gave their visitors a similar treatment when they played out there!

For me it's a sign of being afraid which tells a whole story.

Dude, it's South America. Did you expect any less?

That may be the case but aren't you embarrassed your boys were treated with respect while the same courtesy wasn't offered in return?

Nope. We were excellent as a host compared to others.

Uruguay were awful hosts to Australia in 2006 compared to us. I will also never forget how the Chileans treated us in 1997. I'm actually very surprised as to how the people here treated the Kiwis and in a good way.

The fans who were here had no problem and found themselves socialising with the people a lot. Same with the players, but that's their own fault to not concentrate on the game.

Most probable German squad:

  1. Neuer 27.png
  2. Ter Stegen barcelona.png
  3. Trapp 1457.png
  4. Kimmich 27.png
  5. Boateng 27.png
  6. Hummels 27.png
  7. Mustafi 263.jpg?size=30x&4
  8. Rüdiger 363.png&h=30&w=30
  9. Süle 27.png
  10. Hector 9.png
  11. Kroos 2016.png
  12. Gündogan 382.png&h=30&w=30
  13. Can 364.png&h=30&w=30
  14. Goretzka 694.png
  15. Khedira juventus-turin.gif
  16. Özil 263.jpg?size=30x&4
  17. Götze 258.png
  18. Draxler 1457.png
  19. Reus 258.png
  20. Sané 382.png&h=30&w=30
  21. Müller 27.png
  22. Werner 29680.png
  23. Schürrle 258.png

Now you can make fun of me for implying that Reus and Gündogan won't be injured next summer.

Post Spain, Brazil, France, Argentina and England please.
