Moyes getting the job would relegate them without a doubt, people say that he was on a road to nothing at Sunderland (which he sort of was) but didn't help himself by investing in players that were quite clearly past it.

Exactly. It wasn't all his fault but he has to take a good portion of the blame. Since his nightmare at United he's been totally clueless at every job he's had - he nearly even Real Sociedad!

Remember the shite he bought to Sunderland, terrible ex-Everton players and Donald Love from Manchester United. If he rolls up at West Ham, expect to see him try and sign Adnan Januzaj, Bryan Oviedo and Darren Gibson

You've got to be underwhelmed by this news if you're a West Ham fan, Moyes has proved himself over the last 3 years to be a truly shite manager who took Everton as far as he could. He also had a very settled team there with players he knew inside out. It would be a huge gamble for West Ham to give him the job, I could even see them going down with Moyes at the helm.

Even by West Ham standards, this is beyond comical.

Sacking Bilic is understandable, though replacing him with serial failure David Moyes is unbelievably stupid. Moyes' past three jobs have been disaster after disaster and his interviews and comments made as Sunderland manager, even before a ball was kicked last season, were terrible.

As dull and dour as he may be, Sam Allardyce was the best manager West Ham have had in a long time and they have replaced him poorly in Bilic.

I don't get the Moyes appointment at all unless the dildo brothers give him complete control over everything at the club but I doubt that will happen. That's why he was sort of successful here, Kenwright just let him get on with it.

David Gold likes the media attention too much for that to happen. Reminds me a bit of Simon Jordan. And then you've got that little bastard Sullivan kid on twitter announcing club info. He'll hate that.

He could of course prove me wrong but I can't see him lasting a long time there. He could get results in the short-term because they have some decent players there but when he doesn't play the 'West Ham way' the fans will turn on him.

  • The title was changed to West Ham United Discussion - Bilic Sacked

Do people actually seriously think Bilic not being able to hold West Ham up at the top vindicates Sam Allardyce who won a pathetic 10 out of 57 away games?

In Bilic's first season in charge West Ham got 62 points thanks to Bilic correcting how shite they were away under one of the worst away team managers there has ever been to hold down a job, up there with Tony Pulis who also gets heaps of praise despite being absolute turd on the road for whatever reason.

I'm curious to know whose idea it was at West Ham to buy players whose careers are on their way down. It's bound to be the porn fella who thought it would raise the club's profile.

I've defended Moyes to an extent here because I can't accept people just ignoring his successful few years at Everton because it suits their agenda, but it is pretty baffling how West Ham are so decisive in going after a man who has become an unknown quantity and that's probably being generous.

West Ham sacking Bilic is one of those things that's been inevitable for so long and I can't see how that benefited him or the club.

Their summer business was poor. It was more of what they already had - occasionally good players on big money. The criminally over-valued 'Premier League experience' tag that you pay a hugely inflated premium on, and quite simply a badly coached side. Some of their organisation, or lack of, is laughable.

I do think it's best for all parties for Bilic to go but their owners are clearly an issue here. You cannot call yourself ambitious and then go for David Moyes. I bet he can't believe his luck.

I'm more glad we've ended up with Puel by the day to be honest.

I feel for Billic, their last season at the Boleyn they had Alex Song, Payet and Lanzini against a backfrop of decent players like Kouyate, Antonio, Moses, Noble, Cresswell, Ogbonna and even Carroll had a decent season for his standards.

Then last season they move to the new stadium and struggle, January window comes and Payet forces a move and so they replace him with Robert Snodgrass. They don't get Song back, they bring in Feghouli who leaves a year later.

They made a good signing in the Summer with Hernandez, but then bring in Arnautovic? It'll be interesting to see if Billic had control over players because let's face it, the team they have is a midtable team currently and they're only 2 points off of 9th and 5 points off of 5th...not that they'd finish that high but a bit of perspective is needed with how "bad" they are.

  • The title was changed to West Ham United Discussion - Moyes Replaces Bilic Til End of Season

All respect to what Moyes did at Everton, but how can someone continue to make a career out of a moment in history?  Everything else has been absolutely terrible!

I'd be pissed off if I were a WHU fan because anything Moyes has to offer has nothing whatsoever to do with that club.

A moment in history? He managed Everton for a decade. His last three jobs may have gone to shit for him, but to disregard his time at Everton as meaningless is ridiculous.

Never said it was meaningless mate. I said I respect that. It’s everything after which has been shit. We live in the present and football clubs live in the present. WHU aren’t Everton and this isnt the early 2000s. This is now and Moyes in recent times can be described as a shit manager.

To be fair, a lot of people said the same thing about Ranieri and look how that turned out.

Moyes had no real chance of success at either Manchester United or Sunderland (although he isn't blameless for the failures) and he did do a good job at Everton for a long time. I don't think it's fair to write him off completely, but at the same time, a club that claims to be ambitious shouldn't even consider appointing a manager whose reputation is in the toilet like David Moyes.
