Probably the best round of fixtures since the season started. Annoyingly, people watching in Great Britain will miss the first 15 minutes of the Rome derby but probably the biggest one in the league for around a decade.

And Sampdoria have won every home game (and away game against Genoa) so should be a great test coming up against Juventus.

The big Rome derby today...  That's a game to watch for sure and the top teams are all playing really good interesting games with Napoli at home to AC Milan and Juve away to Samp.  Only Inter have a relatively "easy" game against Atalanta at home.

Hopefully the return of Serie 'A' games will serve as an anaesthetic for what happened to the national team last week and Monday.

Roma looked in total control until Manolas gave away a stupid penalty. Another victory for Di Francesco, who seems to be growing as a manager in big games now. Now a huge task awaits going away to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night. How Belgium had continued to leave Nainggolan out looks stranger and stranger.

Its still baffling that Zielinski doesn't start. I know people highly rate Jorginho but to me Piotr is 10x the player. Incredibly dynamic. His goal today proved exactly the sort of role he offers.

Because Jorginho fits seamlessly into Sarri’s system where as Zielinski is more direct and drives with the ball.

Just look at the pass for the first goal for way Jorginho is playing then!

He does seem a very good player for Napoli to have, and with the number of minutes played by the 'First Choice' midfielders already this season, he'll soon get his chance. Don't think Napoli have had a midweek off since the season started, and the rotational players will have a huge role to play if Napoli are to be successful.

Sarri seems to prefer him as an alternate to Hamsik, and he always seems to be his replacement if necessary. The forward run for the goal yesterday was definitely more fitting for Hamsik's role than Jorginho.

It wouldn't be a goal if Donnarumma had his legs closed xD

anyway, the goal of the night was scored by Milan in the injury time:

Still another crappy performance by Milan. They keep disappointing everyone in Italy.

Can't criticise Donnarumma for the goal. He can't position himself correctly for a shot whilst standing upright. If a striker has the precision to place it there, you have to just applaud their skill.

One thing positive for Milan is their persistence with trying to play football the 'right way'. Even with Napoli pressing them all the way of the pitch, they still try and pass the ball out from the defence. They were much better in the second half, but they aren't fluid enough and attacking wise lack creativity at the moment. Suso may frustrate his teammates at times, but him taking on defenders is still their best threat going forward. Locatelli needed someone alongside him yesterday to try and create something, but Montolivo gave them nothing.

You've got to feel for Benevento, to lose like that is so cruel - especially considering they're still sat on zero points!

It has to be a world record but even as incredible as it may seem, they're still not out of being able to stay up because of how bad others have also been including Sassuolo who had a tremendous campaign last season.

Sassuolo have been picked apart over the last few seasons and, with the losses of Pellegrini, Defrel and most importantly Di Francesco, its really caught up with them this season. Berardi is the only attacking 'star' of the team that had a great start to their Serie A life. Cristian Bucchi has had a decent managerial run lately and I think the club needs to stand by him, they are known to be punching above their weight and it was only natural that they were going to eventually hit a lull and suffer for it.

Benevento, speaking of clubs punching above their weight, are suffering badly for an unbelievable quick rise through the leagues and being up against clubs they simply cannot compete with. It just shows how Serie A need to have a better distribution of wealth between its club (and those in the lower leagues). When historical factors play a part in the distribution of television money, how can small provincial clubs like Benevento compete? At least they can try and build a stronger infrastructure at the club and hopefully, the game time can improve their players for next season in Serie B.

Gonna be between Inter and Napoli for the Scudetto.

Expect Inter to beat Atalanta. The latter haven't won away from this season and European football is affecting their league form.

Samp 3-2 Juve

It was an odd game for Allegri to rest players in, but they can't use that as an excuse as the squad players must play better than the awful display they had for 85 minutes. They seemed flat and almost too confident that they'd eventually win because that's what normally they have done.

Really, they don't need anything from their game against Barcelona and they can still qualify for the next Champions League round. In Serie A, with the increased competition this year, you cannot rest players in a tricky match away to a really good team. Sampdoria deserved far more respect than was paid to them today and they punished Juventus for it.
