Do your XI then mate... It'll be interesting to see how you shift the side.  This isn't easy and those who made the vote for UEFA to publish this have compromised many things so as to fit trademark names in.

You prefer Zidane to Iniesta?

Yes of course, otherwise I wouldn't of put him in there. :D

Hmmm...

This has been debated before and is very subjective but (I hate referring to stats), Iniesta has better numbers EVERYWHERE and the most important numbers are the amount of years at the top of the tree.

Maybe but thats the case also for a lot of other players, Zidane was just more of a complete player.  Obviously these things cause a lot of arguments even  like Raul was the king of the Champions League but people choose Henry because his name is about more these days.     Also strikers - Van Nistelrooy has the same goal ratio as Ronaldo 0.77, Consider RVN missed 3 seasons out of his career due to 2 serious knee injuries.

Raul is another terrific shout. The fact Henry is there ahead of Eto'o or Raul is just mind boggling and yet again takes away all credibility of this list.

Do people honestly sit down and think about it? Or merely pick players off the top of their head or their 'favorites'?

good shout with Raul actually. One of Madrid's best ever strikers especially in the Galactico era (along with Ronaldo back then) as well as always delivering in whatever competition.

I'd drop Cristiano Ronaldo for Ronaldinho  This team should at least be designed to play good football, not just run the fastest and jump the highest

his live reaction after seeing this post

Ultimate shite.

No Ronaldo or Ronaldinho are the glaring omissions.

Take out Gerrard for Scholes for sure.

Scholes is the most overrated player ever.

Gerrard AND Lampard over Scholes.

In terms of football in general during this period:-

Buffon

Alves -- Puyol -- Maldini -- R.Carlos

Xavi

Iniesta ------- Zidane

Messi -- Ronaldo -- C.Ronaldo

Ronaldinho at his best would walk into the team and I, like Harvey, would rather have seen him at his best than C.Ronaldo, but you can't really include the Brazilian over him as he didn't last long enough. C.Ronaldo's consistency, longevity and hard work to stay in shape and continue at a top level until his age is ridiculous. Ronaldinho at his best was much much better to watch, however he was short lived really and became a very frustrating player unfortunately. He could have done much more and it's one of the biggest blows in football how he went downhill so quickly.

As for the Champions league only, you can't really argue with Cicero I don't think.

Martin Keown - Jamie Carragger - Gary Neville

Matt Murray

No Peter Crouch?

Any ultimate team of the 21st century missing Crouchinho is a joke.
