Celtic 1-1 Rangers - 12th March 2017

Recommended Posts

Biggest game in Scotland.

It's also the Rangers manager's first game in charge. Pedro Caixinha.

Yeah I don't know who he is or where he's from but there's no better way to start your manager career at a new club with a win over the biggest rivals the club has.

Celtic aiming to carry on their unbeaten run this season.

Ah fair enough.

Kenny Miller just went in 2 footed but doesn't make contact with the Celtic player. Atmosphere sounds absolutely electric.

Waghorn should have made it 1-0 to Rangers.

Should have absolutely smashed it past Gordon. Waghorn seemed caught between 2 minds whether to bury it or place it.

Very poor start from us. Hopefully a combination of the team calming down as the match goes on, and them tiring, leads to some actual openings.

That Hyndman looks impressive.

Decent chance for Celtic. Free-kick just outside the box hits the post. Keeper got a slight touch to it I think.

They seem to be leaving Hill to be the one that steps out of the backline to challenge, and I don't see how he can keep doing this for the whole match.

1-0 at half-time then, Rangers have actually done quite well but Celtic look so dangerous on the counter attack. The next goal will be crucial to deciding how this one will end, if Rangers grab the equaliser then it's anyone's match but they won't come back from two down.

That Celtic stand behind Foderingham's goal is great too, when they were all bouncing it was a sight.

amazing. that's their standing section and it looked phenomenal.

bit more even in this 2nd half but Stuart Armstrong has just had another long-range effort tipped away by Foderingham.

Waghorn has been proper rubbish today. Fluffed a few chances and hold-up play has not been great. Outmuscled in nearly every challenge.

They seemed to be targeting Sviatchenko and trying to get Waghorn on top of him, but after a few shaky moments it stopped working.

Celtic possibly could have had a penalty straight after. Hill seems to take Griffiths first and then the ball. Big decision for the ref!

Unlucky not to get the pen at the very end, but ultimately it wasn't a good enough performance to say the result is a total injustice.

Wasn't impressed with Dembele. Managed to create one chance that no-one could get on the end of but otherwise I don't think he asserted himself on the game too well.
