Pixar Animation vs Dreamworks - who is better for you?

I'm gonna do a comparison which film I prefer.

A Bugs Life - Antz

Toy Story 2 - The Prince of Egypt

Monsters Inc - Shrek

Finding Nemo - Shrek 2

The Incredibles - Shark Tale

Cars - Madagascar

Ratatouille - Over the Hedge

Wall-e - Shrek the third

Up - Kung Fu Panda x 2

Toy Story 3 - How to Train your Dragon

Cars 2 - Kung Fu Panda 2

Monsters University - Madagascar 3

Dreamworks 7

Pixar 6

Would have been a tie for me but Kung Fu Panda gets 2 points for being my favourite animated movie of all time.

Also I have nothing against Shrek. I just think that the first one came out at the wrong time for them while the sequels were all inferior to the first and the films around that time were better.

Pixar. Hands down.

From them, you have:

- Toy Story trilogy

- Monsters, Inc.

- Finding Nemo

- The Incredibles

- Ratatouille

- Wall-E

- Up

- Inside Out

Dreamworks

- Shrek and Shrek 2

- Kung Fu Panda trilogy

- How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2

Agreed that only those 3 franchises from dreamworks stand out. I did like Antz a lot more than A Bugs Life though.

The only 2 Pixar movies I didn't like were Cars and Wall-e.

Monsters Inc and Monsters University are still my 2 favourite Pixar films.

I think the "best" is Toy Story 3. When you consider the target audience was the 90's generation, it was brilliantly made. My favourite is still Monsters Inc though and Monsters University while not necessary was a lot of fun. I saw it a few days ago and I want to watch it again. When it comes to Pixar anyhow.

Pixar for me. Dreamworks may have my most favorite animated film of all time, The Prince of Egypt, but with them, usually it takes them maybe every other movie to produce a great one.

With Pixar, they are consistent. Always a gem year after year.

Also Pixar's shorts are fairly entertaining.

My top five animated movies

1) Inside out

2) Kung Fu Panda series

3) Titan AE (neither Pixar or DW)

4) Up (Carl and Elie's love story showed in silence, still chokes me up)

5) Ratatouille

Honorable mentions are How to Train your dragon,  Wall-e and Monster's Inc (Monster's University was rubbish).

Heavy Metal is the best animated movie ever.

My other favourites:
Road to El Dorado (DW)
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (Disney)
Treasure Planet (Disney)
Aladdin (Disney)
Monsters Inc. (Pixar)
Ice Age (Blue Sky)
Lilo & Stitch (Disney)
Mulan (Disney)
Emperor's New Groove (Disney)
Lion King (Disney)

So yeah, I think I prefer Disney's older ones.

Disney's Post Renaissance Era was one of the best, but it had so many hit/miss movies.

You seem to have almost as broad a canvas as I do... It was such a long time ago that people wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about if I brought it up.. xD

Still got some of those magazines in the loft from my younger days of collecting... Corben's unique art style was fantastic and could never have been done justice in the film... John Candy's voice over as Den threw me as well, not what I was expecting... still good to know there are a few fans out there.. B|

Yeah Treasure Planet is a great shout. Criminally underrated.

I think it's close to being the most underrated Disney movie ever... Visually, it was amazing, and the soundtrack is great.
