You’ve got to be joking right? There was a stat came out the other day that showed that since Coutinho came to the Premiere League, he’s scored more goals from outside the box than anyone else.

His long range shooting is phenomenal. His set peices are phenomenal.

Theres a reason he’s just become the second highest transfer of all time compared to Hazard who has never really generated any interest whatsoever.

Hazards xG Efficiency was 231% compared to Coutinhos 175% though???

Even Dele Alli's was 185%

I don't know who is worse Elneny or Iwobi, both nowhere near good enough. I hope to God we bring in another midfielder with Coquelin leaving, otherwise we are stuck with playing Elneny...

Iwobi, Elneny, Xhaka, Chambers ... everytime I see these names I feel like Wenger is a coach who manages U7 boys team on a sunday without any game plan and gives them a pep talk before the game which says "go have fun boys"

I havent said he cant score from outside the box. I said thats probably the thing he is good at, hazard is better than him in every other aspect. Like you said Hazard can seem a little dis interested but he is definitely the superior player amongst the two.

He became second highest transfer only because of Neymar's sale, if not, then Barcelona wouldnt have bought him for that number. Liverpool knew they had money and hence that price tag. He probably would have been sold for the price of what the likes of Pogba went for if not for that extra cash from Neymar's exit.

They play in similar positions, why did Barca go for Coutinho?

I’m not sure what aspects you think Hazard is better? He maybe quicker and stronger but that’s about it. Coutinho pisses all over him in everything else. Passing, tight spaces, versatility, shooting, set peices, everything really.

Interesting....

Hazard was better in Aerial battles... Better at Take Ons and Interceptions... He was even better at Fouls won..

Clearances he had Hazard beat but given the state of Pools back line that's not really Much of a surprise... B|

I dont know why, you should ask @SirBalon

I think Hazard is a better dribbler (the tight spaces aspect you mentioned) also believe he is a better passer, better in winning balls. Im not sure what you meant by versatility but I will give Coutinho the long range shooting, he is definitely better than hazard there

And one of the reasons why he became second highest is because these clubs know they can take your players whenever they want and there's nothing you can do.

It's harder to prise Hazard away from the Champions than Coutinho. And cheaper.

What else we got...

Alli-Hazard-and-Coutinho-dribble-comparison.png

Dribbling

All three of these players like to take on defenders. No feint hearts here. But Eden Hazard is simply a terror. Not only does he dribble more frequently than Alli and Coutinho, he does it with a higher success rate.

The results are not close. Hazard’s dribbling skills are so significantly superior to Coutinho with 143 successful dribbles to 70, respectively, that the odds this difference could be attributed to chance or be accidental is 175-1.

Pissed all over Coutinho there as well... B|

I will see what else I can find.. xD

Disagree with you on Chambers & Xhaka, both very good players for me. Would really flourish under a new coach in my opinion.

Drab game but a good result, good discipline from the team and good gameplan/game management from Wenger. Did very well with what he had. Super performance from the 3 CB's today, Mustafi especially led them very well. All to play for in the second leg.

Let’s not forget though that Coutinho played various positions and for much of the time in a much weaker team. Hazard has been playing for a club surrounded by players that have won the league twice in three years.

Coutinho though has been our one consistent in a team that has won fuck all since he’s been here. It makes a difference!

You watch him at Barcelona! He’ll prove just how good he is.

Truth be told I was very excited about Xhaka when he first joined, I read somewhere that he was a great midfielder in Germany who has the leader capabilities with aggression, I thought he would be solid in the middle like Vieira. Never rated chambers though, always looks a liability who cant be trusted at the back.

Not much happened in the game other than VAR proving Chelsea shouldn't have had a penalty last week and VAR preventing Chelsea getting a bullshit penalty today.

Hopefully we get players back from injury for the next game.

Bollocks.

Coutinho has by far been surrounded by more quality attacking players than Hazard. Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge, Lallana, Mane, Salah shit all over Costa, Remy, Demba Ba, Willian, Oscar, and Pedro.  Not to mention played under two managers who implement attacking a free flowing football vs a conservative manager in Mourinho and a disiplined manager under Conte. Yet Hazard STILL has better statistics.

Ok, it’s only my opinion, but I’d take Coutinho over Hazard. Both are fantastic players but I just think Coutinho has a better all round game.

Well we never got the penalty so not sure what the fuss is about.. He even waved play on at the time before getting involved with VAR??

The decision at the time was the right one... The replay showed he got the ball first then the man after...
