Ezequiel Barco deal agreed between Atlanta United and Independiente

At long last, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. ESPN SportsCenter is reporting that Atlanta United and Independiente have finally agreed on a deal that will bring Ezequiel Barco to MLS. Details of the agreement include a $15 million transfer fee and 30% of a future sale until the end of 2019, but only 10% if sold in either 2020 or 2021. John E. Rojas, an MLS reporter close to the situation, is also reporting that Barco’s contract with Atlanta is good for four years and that he is not allowed to play in Argentina again until 2022 or 2023. All terms were agreed upon after Atlanta threatened to walk away from negotiations.

The future sales fee appeared to be the most disputed detail of this transfer saga, but both sides look to have compromised.

Stay tuned the next few days, as the soccer world waits patiently for Darren Eales to tweet a boat emoji.

:congrats:

Ezequiel Barco is a proper talent. I saw him in Lima when Alianza played against Independiente and he is special. Also a quarter of the reason they won the Sudamericana this year. I think he'll do well in the USA:

Wtf, since when did MLS start bringing in proper prodigies.

Since Atlanta got a proper team.

Almirion will be moving to Europe next year, and with losing Asad, we are able to replace him with much better talent.
