Vegetarians and Vegans

I think I remember @Kitchen Sales saying he was a Vegetarian. I used to be, but got super lazy and started eating meat.

Nowadays, I typically leave red meat alone and just stick to Chicken and Fish, however, I have been thinking about even cutting those out as I"m still struggling with IBS issues that are almost crippling me at times.

Any Vegetarians or Vegans on here? Any advice or recommendations on cookbooks or website with recipes?

Wouldn't be one, as i love meat but i also have nothing against people that are vegans. Social media is on a rampage because someone doesn't want to eat meat.

To be fair, nobody would have anything against vegans if it hadn't turned into a hip trendy lifestyle-thing to boast about for many of those who got into it xD It's not exclusive to vegans, it's just the old good "holier than thou" attitude that is annoying af.

I don't have the patience to wait longer than 15 minutes prep and cooking time for food to be ready so I've never been much of a foodie.

To be honest the average healthy breakfast and lunch aren't much different between vegetarians and non-vegetarians, the substitutions are easier, it's dinner time that sort of throws up the what do I do now to get the calories. I tend to go Italian if I want to load up on carbs and Indian for something more balanced.

If anyone finds any vegetarian/vegan meals that are 500-750 calories I'd like to see them, so many recipes out there are low calorie intended for stick thin girls. There is still this assumption that vegetarian means eating more vegetables in restaurants as well. I've been to restaurants where the portion looks massive but in reality you burn more calories chewing some veg than the veg actually gives you.

As of February I am going pescatarian. With the aim of trying a vegetarian diet as long as I can. I do enjoy red meat and chicken etc but I've just heard so many benefits of cutting those out of your diet. Only problem is where I live is cattle/wheat territory far away from big city centers and our produce and what not is often garbage. :(

Well that is true as well, then again people need to start ignoring things they don't have any interest in

If Vegans had their way, sure animal suffering would diminish, but so would the economy.

Numerous studies have found that plants can actually hear themselves being eaten alive and try to defend by releasing certain chemicals  Nature is brutal.

Cholesterol is the main thing as it is the number one culprit for chronic heart deseases. Chicken, beef, fish, etc. Eggs however are the biggest influencers as there is a shit ton of cholesterol in egg yolks. It's illegal for the food industry to lable eggs as 'healthy'.

I eat meat and I love meat. But I do avoid egg yolks and use egg beaters instead. I do have days within the week I stick to plant based meals.

Could you imagine McDonald's, Buger King, Pizza hut, and every other major franchise shutting down xD

No, it certainly wouldn't be a big loss though  I'd love a cheeseburger now though xD

You can't really argue against Veganism. But to shove it down people's throats is another thing.

Think we are at a point where meat has become such a commodity, that I don't ever see it make a significant impact in our lifetimes.

would find it so difficult to totally cut meat and fish out of my life and live on a vegan/vegetarian diet.

For religious reasons I've gone max 2 weeks without meat but found it tough. That first time having chicken after not eating it for a while was heavenly.

I really don't mind people going vegetarian/vegan. It's those that make you feel guilty about enjoying meat/fish which need to diahf.
