I haven't watched any of the movies on the list O.o

I've only seen Dunkirk. I really want to watch "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" though, because I've heard that Sam Rockwell is phenomenal in it.

I've watched Dunkirk and Get Out.

Get Out was class, but I don't think it will win the Oscar for Best Picture.

I'll end up watching all the Best Pic nominees at some point, but for now, the ones I'm more interested in are The Shape of Water, Phantom Thread and TBOEM.

Winners -

Best Picture - The Shape Of Water
Best Director - Guillermo del Toro (The Shape Of Water)
Best Actor - Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour)
Best Actress - Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri)
Best Supporting Actor - Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri)
Best Supporting Actress - Allison Janney (I, Tonya)

The Shape Of Water was my second favourite film from the list after Get Out. Had Chistopher Nolan (Dunkirk) & Jordan Peele (Get Out) ahead of Guillermo del Toro for Best Director. Daniel Day-Lewis (Phantom Thread) ahead of Gary Oldman for Best Actor. Laurie Metcalf (Ladybird) ahead of Allison Janney for Best Supporting Actress.

Anyway, didn't think any of the films were outstanding (although I haven't watched All The Money In The World from the 14 films with nominations in the main categories).

Absolutely amazing that Jordan Peele is an oscar winner now. I remember him from his silly sketches on Key & Peele.

I watched the movie a while back knowing nothing about it and enjoyed it. I still dont understand how it was an oscar nomination for best picture, maybe says more about the field then anything. I was floored when i noticed Jordan Peele was the writer/director. As you say i love alot of his sketches, him and Key are some funny dudes. Hopefully its a sign of things to come from him.

Academy awards don't reflect the quality of pictures anymore. Now it's just another thing ruined by SJW's.

I don't think the winners of the awards lacked any credibility but the whole feel of the Oscars is pretty much a joke now.

I'm not sure if that's true. Most best picture winners have very good reviews and some have not had massive publicity or made massive amounts of money. There have been a few exceptions like braveheart and Titanic where they went more with the public but for the most part films that are received the best by critics win it.
