Danny Welbeck Avoids UEFA Punishment

Danny Welbeck will not face any retrospective action for an alleged dive during Arsenal's 3-1 Europa League win over AC Milan last Thursday.

The Gunners forward went down after a challenge from left-back Ricardo Rodriguez to win, and then convert, a penalty to level the game.

UEFA's disciplinary body have since reviewed the incident and have decided to take no further action against Welbeck, meaning he will be available for the first leg of Arsenal's quarter-final clash against CSKA Moscow on April 5.

Pathetic.

Was there even any contact? At most, there was a slight touch on his chest. He's taken the piss with the way he went down (read, dived) and so have UEFA with this decision.

I hadn't seen it before. That was a disgrace. Its not even as if he looses his balance. That's as bad a dive as I've seen.
