It's become an epidemic to be honest and the curious thing is that Labour have a massive Jewish membership within their party.

But let's put Labour to one side for a moment because in the UKs universities being anti-Jewish is the dish of the day.  And it's not just being anti-Semitic, but being proper hardcore about it too.  It's this intellectual crap... They think they have answers but they have nothing of the sort and much less the experience in life needed to be permitted to start to be listened to where answers are concerned.

It all stems from anti Israeli sentiment and because of that bias they champion the Palestinian cause which has led to them becoming as hateful as the Palestinians themselves towards theJews.

It's a difficult one to navigate, much like with a black person and their experiences of racism, non-Jewish people should be careful not to try and define what is and isn't anti-Semitism. We can never really know. I'm often shocked at how people often use 'jew' as a pejorative, very casually and without much thought. There have been disturbing rises in anti-Semitic attacks across Europe from grave desecration to murder (there was a horrifying murder in France last week of a woman in her 80s ffs). You cannot blame Jewish people for being perennially on the look out for anti-Semitism, Europe's history is a long and sadly dark one and the darkest when it seemed as if the light had been reached. So we shouldn't dismiss concerns and there are of course anti-Semites among Labour, there are those who use criticism of Israel as a shield for their real malevolence. These people should be dealt with as any other racist should, immediate and permanent expulsion.

However, the worst accusation that can be levelled against Corbyn directly is that he is a weak leader. Just like there are anti-Semites using Israel for their hate of Jews, there are some people using this to try and turn the debate around Israel to one of anti-Semitism, which is wrong, unfair and dangerous. The Israeli government is responsible for masses of abuses in the middle east and Britain should not be unequivocally supportive of them, much the same as with Saudi Arabia.

On top of that there are many just trying to smear Corbyn and the Labour party, they've tried and failed many times and will this time also.

Nope don’t want anyone to hate anyone, just govern in the long term best interests.

I’m guessing that the growth of anti Semitic hate is a by product of their pandering to the specific voting demographic your post insinuates though.

Corbyn is a running joke to all but the dyed in the wool left and that swathes of northern Industrial England that role out once every general election and put an “x” next to the Labour candidate because “Thatcher stopped kiddies milk n closed pits”.

So you and the Conservatives have been saying for 3 years. They still managed to lose a majority government against this supposed joke. The smears have plumbed new depths really, the Czech spy stuff being a real nadir.

Corbyn's social policies are very popular indeed and appeal broadly, he tends to lose points on foreign policy and how poorly he's handled Brexit. Now he's not going to change on foreign policy, nor should he but he's been spectacularly poor on Brexit so far and Labour a shambles more generally.

Corbyn should shut his mouth on anything to do with any country except Britain tbh.

Labour's smartly come out swing on corporate tax avoidance and foreign investors asset-stripping UK companies again after getting their apologies done, but ofc the Conservatives will try as hard as possible to keep the focus on issues that don't actually change anything for British peoples' lives.

I don't doubt that there are anti-semites aplenty within the pro-Palestine movement and that Labour figures have been stupid to uncritically back it so strongly, but the fact that this antisemitism storm has blown away all concern over Brexit being won illegally, one of our largest defence companies getting bought over and probably stripped of most of its UK presence, and the criminal justice system nearing collapse, is nothing but a testament to the power of the interests behind UK media.

Also people seem to forget that the last Labour leader was a Jew.

yet he's dropped back in the polls against possibly the biggest personality vacuum in British politics Theresa May.

Anyway the reaction to the tweet by Lord Sugar has shown the clueless Labour politicians for the cretins they are. The "screeching to take it down" is hilarious, Sugar was a long standing labour donator & member until Comrade Corbyn and his gang of momentum clowns rode into town preaching marxist bollocks. For those that live in a labour run city and see how much these gaggle of retards damage and limit the progress of those they govern it can't happen to a nicer party:D

The polls go back and forth regularly, they also had May to win a massive majority, Britain to vote Remain and Clinton to the Presidency.

Corbyn has definitely not made the most of his post election momentum though, he continues to be frustratingly sketchy on Brexit and that will hurt him. Still, we are in a phoney war stage at the moment, everyone is waiting to see if we can some clarity, only then will the real battle for election begin again.

As for the Sugar post, clearly a joke. If a little tasteless.

So the latest antisemitism furore seems to be Corbyn meeting with a leftist group called "Jewdas" who are anti-Israel. The part nobody is mentioning? Jewdas are a Jewish group, and the meeting was a 4-hour Passover celebration. A religious celebration held by a Jewish group in his constituency to which he was invited. And him attending is antisemitic.

Yup, this thing's a big sham from middle-class journalist wankers terrified of the prospect of an actual left-wing candidate being anywhere near power.

To these people anti-semitism means not having the approval of pro-Israeli, right-wing Jewish groups, and having the support of leftist, non-Zionist Jewish groups. This entire saga is a bunch of non-Jews holding-up certain opinions - mostly those of older, wealthier members of the Jewish community - as the "correct" opinion on Corbyn, which represents British Jews as some kind of homogenised collective, rather than a group of actual people with wildly diverging opinions and loyalties.

The entire way the right-wing has attempted to exploit this is in fact more antisemitic than anything, in attempting to boil down the experience of British Jews into the opinion of a few organisations who they see as competent to speak on their entire behalf.

Lol you’re seriously going to try to paint this Jewdas group as some kind of run of the mill Jews. Just a glance at their website shows they’re a gaggle of hard lefty looms devoid of reality. Given the current PR disaster the Anti Semitic problem labour have, going to this is up there with his most moronic things he’s done.

Labour have said he attended in a personal capacity not as in his role of leader of the party 😂😂😂 even they’re trying to distance themselves from this clown.

He lost though I think his “momentum” was over played it was basically the UKIP vote returning to their traditional parties and more lack of Tory momentum. Because although I voted Tory I wouldn’t have voted for May given the choice, it was far much more about keeping Marxist loons out for me this time.

Being anti-Israel isn't being anti-Semitic mate and I'm sure you know this. Israel is a state and not an ethnic group!

I know plenty of Jewish people and Infact have Jewish family members where they vary from being pro-Israel (with harsh questions thrown at said State) to extremely anti-Israel.  Yet they are all Jewish and would never negate on that fact!

With non Jewish people you don't even have to be a smart person to sniff out someone that's anti-Semitic when they're trying to use the argument on Israel because in a debate with them they'll always always end up falling into the most simplistic traps that even a child can see coming.  Their extreme views and passion will override any makeup they put on their arguments surrounding the state of Israel.

It's there where you can see who is anti-Semitic and I would say every political ideology suffers from this syndrome revolving Jews.  The reason it's a lot easier to get left-wingers outed in this sense (they actually out themselves) is simply because of the nature of leftism and how it traditionally manifests itself.  Add to the factor intellectualism or its modern manifestation with the younger mob... The way they debate or better said (because it's devolved of any form of debate seeing as they're always RIGHT) state their psycho-insular beliefs bringing them to the fore and they are on the large scale majority all leftists.

I don't believe for one single minute and have never even contemplated it, that Corbyn is an anti-Semite... Infact there have been various comments from some people in the political spectrum that have said stupid things where they didn't pretend to come across as they seemed.

Who gets to decide what a run of the mill Jew is? And if the only problem is them being left-wing and unrealistic, then how is this a racism issue in any capacity? People are only mad because they disagree with the views of the people with whom Corbyn associates himself, and they'll call him anti-semitic even when those people are themselves Jewish. The problem is that he's met a left-wing group. But people aren't complaining "he's too left-wing!", they're shouting "he's anti-semitic!".

Plus who cares if it's a Party function or not. A local Jewish group invited him to a Passover celebration and he decided to go, without his backers pushing him. Right-wing pro-Israel groups like the Board of Deputies refuse to meet Corbyn so what's he meant to do? He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Because it's all a sham.

It's just people calling racism because they've ran out of valid criticism. In fact the likes of yourself will cry snowflake at every given opportunity and in fact right now you're trying to complain about racism over nothing, which nobody on this board has done before.

Which by your own standards makes you TF365's biggest and only snowflake.

Labour's anti-semitism head can't even pretend to care about Jews enough to spell Seder right in her rush to attack Corbyn. Can't believe this firestorm has given Tory sludge like her leverage in the party.

If you say Jewdas' hard left bent makes them politically unreliable then the same can be said of the Jewish Council, with a large Conservative presence and the Blairite Labour MPs opposed to Jeremy Corbyn. We should try and remove that side of it, actively go after the genuine anti-Semities. Of course that's not what many people actually want though.

The issue as far as I can see isn't that he went to a far left group, it's that he went to one that's said the anti-Semitism scandal around Labour is nothing more than a right wing conspiracy. Meeting with them doesn't exactly suggest that he's taking the issue seriously. Assuming one exists, he should've gone to a politcally neutral Jewish group.

@SirBalon

I agree that dislike of Israeli foreign policy and Antisemitism aren’t always one & the same. Nor do I regard Corbyn as an antisemite in terms of him sitting at home fingering a copy of mein kampf and praying for “a final solution” the way a silly neo Nazi does.

Where Corbyn does cross the line of anti semitism for me is because of his left leaning Marxist tendencies.

He’s always been a dyed in the wool Marxist who’s always campaigned against the oppressor in this particular case it’s the state of Israel that are his “bourgeoisie”. The problem he has is that because he’s so partisan in his view he overlooks the problems with those he perceives as being oppressed and only puts stock in those he views as the oppressor. It’s why he’s frequently linked with horrible characters because frankly he takes the attitude of you’ve gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet but with Marxism the eggs are people’s lives and the consequences are catastrophic.

Here for example it’s slightly different from being critical of a normal nation state and being racist because the state of Israel and the Jewish faith are so closely aligned. Jews can be from any country in the world but Israel is a spiritual home to them. Backing the Palestinian’s which he does because it’s classic identity politics of a Marxist is effectively tantamount to contributing to a potential Israeli genocide.

No doubt a few of you will get a bit hot at that comment but it’s the harsh reality, if Israel as a state cease to act in the interests of the Jewish people in that region they will eventually be out bred and eradicated. Do Israel do things by the book? No. Are Israel a particularly kind state? No.

Virtually all the states surrounding them still refuse to acknowledge their existence, what can Israel do? If they become weak they will be ethnically cleansed. That’s why many Jews react to championing of Palestinian causes as if it’s anti Semitic because the end goal of the current Palestinian leadership couldn’t be more anti Semitic if it tried.

Corbyn overlooks that though because he’s always got to champion the underdog or oppressed people because it’s that default identity politics which do helps push socialism upon the masses.

The reason many mainstream Jewish groups won’t speak with him is because he nailed his colours to the mast many years ago, he’s called hamas & hezbollah friends, he’s been a part of many anti Semitic Facebook groups or parliamentary solidarity groups that are pro Palestinian and label Israel all kinds of things, he’s shared platforms with holocaust deniers. Would you if you’re a Jew, entertain this bloke in good faith?

It’s him in a nutshell he will overlook all the bad stuff on his side of the argument to stick it to the oppressor as he sees it and has no foresight that the world just doesn’t work out that way.

This is a bloke that’s activists champion for getting arrested for protesting apartheid in South Africa, he was actually protesting on behalf of the more extreme branch of the AAM who had the slogan “one settler one bullet” at odds with Mandela’s ANC, if his crowd had their way South Africa would look more like Zimbabwe than it already does.

(Off topic but it’s Marxists again starting violence and descent into hell there currently)

@Inverted lol you got the snowflake jibe in well done.

Jewdas by the look of them look quite deranged with tweets replying to Netanyahu “delete your country” & “Israel is a steaming pile of garbage” as leader of the opposition he should be aware of this before going there. It’s at the very least grossly incompetent given the current climate

About 12-18 months ago I'd have got involved in this debate trying to defend Corbyn but I really just can't be arsed.

Politics in this country for me has to be at an all time low. Both parties are just as bad as each other that all they do is try and smear the opposition. I follow Labour or Jeremy Corbyn on Facebook, every day it's just "today I asked the prime minister why the Conservative party is ruining the NHS". Then the Tory rags are shamelessly feeding off this anti Semite saga on the front page every day, which to be fair is a good distraction of what a botch they're making of the Brexit negotiations, not that Labour would be doing any better.

It's just tiresome. When I first moved back to the Isle of Man I was a bit miffed that I couldn't vote in the UK anymore on stuff that directly affects me but now I'm not at all arsed. The fact that the two groups of people who compete to run the country have ended up with Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn as their leaders just goes to show the lack of leadership and organisational skills we have in Great Britain these days. Stuff like this Jewdas thing is like being on the titanic while it's sinking and arguing over whether you should eat your melon with a spoon or a fork.
